Re: RIP Ric Ocasek :(

Damn :( I'd be down to record a Cars cover. Although I was still in the midst of figuring out my Daniel Johnston cover. This year, man.

Re: Drinking in the (Liquid Starshine prefight)

In! With a hasty fuzzy lo-fi kind of thing. This is the first time I've ever played actual bass and not faked it on a keyboard! (and, uh, sorry in advance about that. And about the general production values. I've been listening to a lot of Guided by Voices) Am I the only one who wrote about the lip ...

Re: Loudness management

I don't think enforcing a loudness setting would be good unless there's something on the back end making it happen automagically, because it's a barrier to entry that I think would eliminate a lot of cool songs by non-tech-savvy musicians. BUT I personally would like at least having a guideline to w...

Re: Novembeat

Oh and of course I completely forgot to write what I started to comment about, which is that I like the Novembeat site, I'm glad you have it up! Easy to navigate and figure out what the heck it is and how to listen to stuff in a minute or two.

Re: Novembeat

There's the RPM Challenge (Record Production Month) in February too. I think it's more focused on recording than FAWM, so you could do new recordings of pre-written songs in February for the RPM challenge, but FAWM is all about writing. I think TC was also running an Album Production Challenge on Fa...

Re: Song Fight! Live 2019: Media

I have pictures! Some are on the SFL FB page, many aren't. I'm not sure of the easiest/best way to share them. I guess maybe I'll just make a Facebook album and anyone who wants to see them but can't can send me a friend request, and if you don't have Facebook then why haven't you handed your info o...

I listened to both the original and your cover and I liked them both. Your voice suits this song very well.

I knew the competition had gone a bit sideways...
For some reason this picture shows up properly on mobile for me but sideways on desktop (just discovered that, I posted from my phone earlier)

Just turn your monitor sideways :)

Re: Meet me at (The Supper Club prefight)

Congrats to Micah for that and also probably congrats in advance for winning the Internet one too!

Anyway, I'm in, I did rerecord my song in the privacy of my own home so I could have a version without bar noise and screwups, but I still at least did it live as a single take :)

Oh! And I really wanted to go to the Garver Feed Mill that just opened last week, it's a sort of public food market with a bunch of food stalls near the bike path behind Olbrich Botanical Gardens.
