wouldn't doing the contest through songfight just be messing with songfight during those weeks? the person who does songfight during those weeks who isn't part of the contest will have to deal with huge contest going on (not to mention potential friend-flooding). i just liked that, when you get kick...

the point system sounds good. maybe there could be a couple of 'bonus point opportunities' sprinkled throughout the competition. like, covering a specific song or making a music video of your last song. something like that.

How about something like nur ein but with less rounds and more time to work on songs? And, most importantly, the challenges would be way more heavy duty (ones that would drastically effect the song) with hopes of finding the most incredibly versatile band.
