I would do this, assuming my occasional lurking coincides with whenever details are announced.

Re: Circle of Titles VII

Do we start at Glacier Point, Or where the river joins Up with the creek from Mirror Lake? Can we get all the way To Mount Clark in four days, Without having our feet ache? Heh. I submitted "Glacier" as my title because my wife and son and I were just about to leave for nine days of hikin...

For my part of the circle, I submitted "Glacier" and received a choice of "Eggplant Jellybean" or "Door Jam". I chose the latter.

I got a great title last time. I'm probably in and I just figure if I get something that's so long and/or so nonsensical and/or so juvenile that it's not at all inspirational, I'll be enormously liberal with the rules.

Kinda weird that this thread comes back to life hours before I move into the ultimate category.

Re: Nur Ein VII: Round Three

Wow, I made it on a list *and* I got bolded - how 'bout that? I was actually looking forward to participating this year but I'm out of town for three weekends in May and wasn't feeling the shouting thing so I took a pass. Anyway, it looks like the rules might be changing but I'll throw out there tha...

Me too. I've got my iPad accordion app and I'm ready to use it!
Me three! I've got one and I use it - I just didn't have anything useful to tell roymond.

One of my heroes - saw him most recently with Lyle Lovett in February. Just two songwriters sitting on stage with their acoustics. Hiatt's one of those folks - like Tom Waits or Lucinda Williams - that all kinds of people have covered through the years. You've heard more of his stuff than you think.

Re: Sept. 2nd, 2011 - The iPod experiment

At this very moment, my Squeezebox (a subject in itself) is spewing out a random selection of wonderful free music I just downloaded from noisetrade.com. I had never heard of the site before a facebook posting from James McMurtry (Austin dude and hero to Ross Durand and me). I don't remember who I d...

It's odd how the subject matter experts can be so riveting with so little dialogue.

Re: Which cheap-ass bass should I get?

I usually keep my nose out of things like this but I've never ever bought a cheap instrument online that exceeded my expectations. And they can be crap in so many ways that you'd never think of. If you don't feel like you have the knowledge or experience to make a good decision in a guitar shop or y...

Re: Circle of Titles II

I woke up this morning with Jon Eric's song in my head. Took me a minute to figure out what it was since my subconscious doesn't know the words either. Bup du-dut-duh bup duh in Texas ... Of note: It wasn't a nightmare so that's good. The version in my head still has some pitchy vocals and I'm not s...

Re: Circle of Titles II

"Billy's Little Trip Is A Coprophagist" I've looked up words I don't know my whole life, but somehow the context warned me off this one and I was able to ignore it. Then I'm reading James Lileks this morning and he uses the phrase "coprophagic child molester" (in the context of ...

Re: Songfight Live 2012 Location Poll

I seldom post but lurk regularly and participate sporadically under mostly one-off names.

Anyway, I'd drive to Madison if the dates work, especially if it lined up with a Brewers home stand.

Also, I drink a lot of Manhattans.
