Re: Time off for good behavior (pre-fight)

This one is going to contain the second guitar solo I've ever recorded. Just to warn you all, I'm pretty sure the ghost of Muddy Waters is going to punch me in the face for this one.

Sure, burst my little bubble. :)

I guess I just assumed that everyone voted for their own songs. I learnded something today.

Wow, I really do hate to be a gloating dick, but after all that heated debate our song beat Reist's 7-5.

"I know music" LOL.

Sorry. Couldn't resist pointing that out.

Night elf Mohawk - I don’t believe you think this/know is crap - I don’t think so either - I also don’t think it’s a song. thanks for playing Now that's dismissive criticism I can handle. Night Elf Mohawk - Wait, we've been arguing over this song? This is actually really cool! It's like Slint meets...

Re: Like a pair of sunbathing mambas (Green Eleven reviews)

you should check in on the chat now and then. As soon as I can figure out how the hell irc works, I'd like to. BTW that sitar setup you have is interesting; I might have to go buy a guitar cheap enough that I won't care if I accidentally mangle it and give that a try. I remember also hearing ...

Reviews. I didn't do these in any particular order, so you'll just have to sift through them to find yours. Sorry. LML - Kind of drifting in and out of this one. I'm sure that this song is about more than just a clock, but I have a hard time getting interested enough to find out what. The tune is ca...

Re: At The Hospice (We Keep Them Alive Reviews)

don't like the voice you put on, even if it makes me laugh a little it also makes me cringe. Yeah, that particular voice is a character I came up with named Flappy Gunderson, who I haven't brought out in a SongFight entry since Cryptic Comment. Based on the kind of response he's gotten here and els...

Re: Where your rating is (Come Down reviews)

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed that songfight has fallen this far. There were some decent entries, but they were mostly "good for songfight" entries rather than songs I will keep on my hard drive and listen to amid signed artists. It is not impossible to make such songs. Frankie, JB, ad...

We Keep Them Alive by Styop Quoons They live with us, But they ain't good for nothin. We give them little treats but they don't care. They stay home all day, And while we're workin' for our pay, They shit in tiny boxes That we keep beneath the stairs. And when we come home, We find ourselves a stepp...

Re: Are you still alive? (pre-fight)

Chad, you really need to start experimenting with vocal fx to help create atmosphere. Not that there is anything wrong with the way you do vocals, but to give yourself inspiration to let it rip. Your songs are almost screaming for multi tracked vocals and fx to match the mood of your style. This is...

Re: Come Down Where You Ought To Be

Close is a relative term, but we live close enough to be able to be in the same room when we work together. Which is good, because one of the key components of most of our collaborations seems to be alcohol, and somehow getting drunk long-distance just isn't the same.

Some very late reviews: Hey, everyone whose songs I didn't get to, sorry I didn't get to your songs in time. I've had a rather busy week and this was a long-ass fight. Anyway, for anyone still interested, here are the remaining songs I have not yet reviewed for this fight. McRamahamasham - You know...

Re: Review A Little Bit More (Love Me reviews)

Really? It's such a tired old argument, though. Every art movement thought the one that followed it was shit. Practically everybody thought Jackson Pollock was shit at the time, but just the other day I noticed that Google was celebrating his birthday. Art IS relative, one man's shit is another man...

Shame on you. I don't know if it's just two, three, or a full nine of you guys, horsing around, being intentionally terrible, but I wish you'd take a step back and look at what you're doing. There are real people sitting at their computers, checking this site, listening to these songs, and writing ...
