I have failed in my attempt to do justice to Fernando. And rather than mail in a crappy GnG version (although the thought did cross my mind), I'm stepping aside. I think someone was cooking up another version of the tune anyway; hopefully they can come through in my stead.

I will be a bit late with Take A Chance. My recording attempts over the weekend were still falling short of capturing the sound I wanted for this one. I'll keep at it and send in a link once it's ready (also didn't want to go the GnG route simply to have something done).

There is good news! amongst all this sadness! With the help of liberal doses of Nyquiltinis* I was able to numb the agony in my throat enough to get my song almost done, hoorah! Unfortunately I am now in no condition to drive to the place where I was going to record the rest of the percussion parts but I oughtsta be able to take care of that tomorrow, and the whole darn song will be done on time, if luck is with us.

Do you slackers want this to be due February 21st? I'd rather post a ton of songs late than post 3 or 4 and have a load missing.

I won't be done until thursday/friday (although I did play bass on Andy Balham's Gimme Gimme Gimme, so you should get your fix of j$ campy goodness even if you go with tomorrow)

There may be some half-arsery as to the end product and others might opine that it's lame, but damnit I was on time.

Though I suspect in the light of another week, I may tweak it a little.

If you want out and we have another week then can I ask to claim this one for The Little Smokes to have a crack at?

I think mine will be done today, but I will mess with it some more if the due date is being pushed back.

This most definitely made me giggle, and think of Troy Aikman.

EDIT: Bold on your mistake. Or was it a mistake? Hmmm....

I suck. (As do the demands on my time that have kept me from this.)

Unfortunately I must continue to suck. But I'll do my best to have it done next week.

It's the best, most definitive Klownhole cover ever. It could be our best work.

I expect, nay, demand a lot of "this isn't my kind of thing" and "it's too long" and "it's very noisy and poorly played/mixed/etc" comments.

Beyond that, I'm looking at the other entry titles and am earnestly hoping this batch is as fun to listen to as it looks like it might. Let's get this fight started, KH has arrived like a pack of rumble minded juvenile delinquents. Which is after all in the spirit of ABBA.

Excellent. Only full-arsery will be tolerated as far as I am concerned.

Although jack-arsery will have to suffice on my part.

So are we getting these soon or will there be more partial-ass-related delays? I don't mind just listening to my own song over and over because it is pretty god damn swell (on a scale of zero to one, it is at least 3/4-ass) but it might be nice to get a little bit of variety in my Abba-cover listening diet.
