I may or may not be working tomorrow. If I'm not, I'll try and get this out of the way, even though I'm not inspired at all.

It's too wet outside, so I have no work. I've written a chorus and a verse. Maybe I'll just go with simple song structure and finish this mess today.

Okay, got something written and am in the middle of recording. I will be one of the many who rhymes "go kart" with "kick start," but maybe the judges will be impressed with the clever way I build up to it. Or my references to TWO movie actors in the bridge.

In any case, I'm kinda liking how this one is coming out, feeling pretty good about making it to round 1, anyway...

Got the lyrics, chord prog., and a couple ideas for second guitar--will most likely have the usual issues with poor recording equipment (leading to bad recordings), lack of experience with drum synthesization, and bad vocals.

On the up and up, though, I drop no less than 5 names, maybe 7 if you count first names.

Does it have to be an actor/actress or can it be someone who is notorious in general? Or someone associated with film, but not an actor?

THESE ARE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS FOR SONGWRITING!

Frankie, I'm not really speaking for all the judges here, but to me "actor/actress" was meant to be interpreted literally. I think one possible litmus test would be if the person has stage/TV/film credits as actor on the IMDB, for example.

EDIT: Or were you joking? If so, please disregard my explanation...

I was not joking. My guy is more of a producer/writer than an actor.

I recently did an 8 week run in the chorus of a local amateur production of HMS Pinafore. Feel free to drop my name if you like.

Oh. I was an extra in Without Consent. I know that from the back of my head, it looks like I'm sullenly eating food in a mental health facility, but I was totally just pretending to eat the food.

I drop only one name, but drop it like 7 times.

And for Frankie - mine is a real actor, with multiple failed marriages, bouts of depression and at least one pet that was killed by a car. CERTIFIED, baby!

I was all, like, bummed, because my wife has forbidden me to rhyme "Kick Start" with "Heart" and so I lost my inspiration.

Then I came here to complain, and realized I'd neglected to take note of the non-optional challenge.

So now I am freshly inspired. I LOVE YOU NUR EIN!
