1. It is Frida Kahlo's birthday. I'm ever so slightly peevish that there is no google doodle. But google erased one of my sillyListyposts, so whateverFlarg to that! This is my favorite painting of her where she is wearing the earrings that Picasso gave her. She got real popular, and it's probably because she liked the bright colors. http://www.frida-kahlo-foundation.org/S ... -1940.html
2. I ate too many noodles this Holiday Summer Season. But I am looking forward to Our Live Event. The noodles are better in Seattle than they are here, so I am hoping to eat some. I used to live in Redmond when I got married, but I will not be going there.
3. I wrote lyrics for the fight that is coming up but will not have time to use them. I would put them up but they are creepy.
4. Is anyone else terrified of airplanes? I get it intellectually, but those things are really too big to be in the sky like that!!!

ps. yes, that's a real question there, I'm curious to know if there is more Airport Fear here. But yes, this was an excuse to introduce my Fetching New Avatar. It would have been more useful to write some reviews, and I realize this....

1. It is also my Mother's B-Day today. ^_^ We taking her out to dinner in an hour or so.
2. I'm 5 days into a 'detox' where I am drinking nothing but water (minus my morning chocolate milk I've had every day of my life).
3. I am weening off Prilosec, as I have gone over the 14 day limit by about.... 10 1/2 months. Research online shows taking Zantac and Prilosec on alternate days, then 2 days of Zantac and 1 day of Prilosec, then 3 and 1, and then just Zantac is the best way to do so without getting the awful side effects of quitting long term Prilosec cold turkey (such as cancer of the esophagus).
4. I stole Denni's list thingie on purpose to be cute.
5. I am not cute.

I saw the Frida Kahlo birthday announcement today on the social networks and immediately thought of you.

To celebrate, I have gone further south (than usual) to Savannah for colonial architecture and a riverboat cruise.

I LOVE flying, always have. But fon't worry, planes work by infallible magic:

I love to fly. I am not afraid of airplanes, but am afraid of airports. Well, not afraid of them, just don't like them one bit.

I didn't fly until I was 17 and had to get to Austria somehow. Prior to that I have been to 49 states and many Canadian provinces. Since then I've flown more than I'd like, but I still get a thrill out of it and try to get a window seat if it's during sunlight hours. The earth from above is just too strange and amazing.

Flying is awesome. You sit in a comfy chair and watch movies while girlies bring you drinks! What is not to like?

airports are horrid. DFW is the worst, followed in my opinion by LAX. I also do not at all like London Heathrow.
I think I have a window seat for one leg. They make it nicer. Oddly, roller coasters don't bother me at all.

I'm with Roy on this one. Airplanes I can deal with. Airports hurt my soul.

Oh man I'm glad someone posted about birthdays because that reminded me that today is my mom's birthday.

I'd like airplanes better if the seats were a bit more comfortable. I'm not exactly huge but I still feel like I'm being stuffed into a sardine can. The airports themselves are okay as long as they provide free wifi or don't block cellphone data signals, and as long as there's plenty of power outlets for peoples' use. I tend to avoid flights with layovers though, because layovers are the source of most airport-related misery.

Airports are ok if I can sit and watch the planes while I wait. I can watch them taxi, take off and land for hours. The planes themselves make me feel trapped and I get claustrophobic. But the flying part is awesome. I guess because I understand and love the mechanics of jet engines and aerodynamic.
If I had a personal jet, I'd love to fly. Like the Criminal Minds, staff. :)

If DFW is worse than LAX - I really don't want to go there. LAX is horrible. The worst in my experience (not counting places like Nauru or Bonriki, Kiribati - which are whole different kettles of fish altogether). And yeah - Heathrow is nothing special either.

No airports are great really - but Bangkok is probably the best I have been to recently. I think JFK has been the best US airport I have been to. My local, Brisbane International is not too bad thankfully. I have found that airline lounge membership is pretty essential. I am in the Qantas Club, which usually gives me access to Qantas, British Airways or American Airlines lounges in most places. That makes airports far more bearable.

Heathrow has "Yotel" those little cubes to nap in, which has helped out a bit. I forget what the Singapore one was called, but after a long flight it's pretty cool to shower and chill.

Those sleeping pods make me feel claustrophobic even just looking at them. I don't think I'd be able to actually sleep in one.

No problem with airplanes, especially the new seats that slide instead of tip, so the asshole in front of me is reducing his OWN leg space, not mine.

No problems with airports, really. But then, I like malls, too.

No problem sleeping in a cube. I really want to give a Yotel a try. Sounds perfect.

Just make your voice fluctuates rapidly between the normal chest voice and falsetto head voice, repeatedly.

Oh, I actually just looked at the Yotel site, and yeah that's something I can totally get behind and would be fine with (and the Pod Hotel that I stayed at for SF2011 isn't very different). It's the capsule hotels in Shanghai and Osaka that freak me out.

Especially since you just KNOW those are sized for Asian people.

For a long time I've wanted to make a Frida Kahlo biography entitled "Unibrowed and Proud: The Frida Kahlo Story" but I never get past the snarky title.

Yeah, Yotel is pretty cool. Wireless, bed, shower, etc. It's really not tight in there. Capsules? No thanks.

The capsules sound like bullets that can be shot out of a cannon when they decide the Americans have to leave. That's just a little too convenient.
