My lyrics tend to be aphoristic. To tell you the truth, I don't pay much attention to lyrics -- it took me years to understand what people saw in Bob Dylan. It's weird, because I write for a living (technical writing, which is almost writing anyway).

Yes, it's about international politics. At the back of my mind was the recent G8 meeting. But more generally, it's about big plans (world enough and time) that don't show enough experience or common sense to work (reason none nor rhyme). Each verse echoes this opposition. The workers with sweat on their backs know that life can have harsh consequences, and they are lamenting the stupidity of the leaders (hands and faces unravaged by sun, their troubles are only begun).
