Walking The Border - By MC Eric B
=============================

I'm walking the border
should I cross that line
A Devil and Angel
always dancing in my mind

There's plenty of reasons
why I should not give in
but my body is aching
and ready to sin
-------------------------
I slip off my ring
she slips off her dress
the hunger and lust
to her I confess

An escape from life
my secret vacation
the call of the wild
the thrill of temptation
---------------------------

I'm walking the border
sometimes I cross the line
A Devil and Angel
always dancing in my mind

I know all the reasons
why I should not give in
but there's a fire inside me
and I'm ready to sin

-----------------
I'm walking the border
I'm headed for danger
life's all out of order
things keep getting stranger
------------------

I'm walking the border
to a place I can't go back
can't pick up the pieces
when love jumps off the track

I'm walking the border
trying hard to transcend
I'm walking the border
but sometime it has to end

[fade out]
I'm walking the border
I'm walking the border
I'm walking the border

Walking the Border by Nigel (spOOn) Clements
(Performed under the name, Cynthia Size)

With eyes that burn with
Veiled concern
You drag me
Into your world
You captured my soul
In your picture box
I’m your
Perfect postcard girl
And I don't really
Know your name
But you're
Wonderful to me
'cause although my heart's been
Torn in twain
You've set me back
Upon my feet

And I'm walking the border
Between Heaven and Hell
My heart's in repair
And it's kiss it’s kiss it’s kiss and tell

So slow my pulse
It quickens now
At the thought
Of your touch
But something’s wrong
Where have you gone
No longer mine
As such
How could you bring me
Back from death
Just to execute
Me again
And as the picture you took
Fell to the ground
I danced the dance
Of the never ending empty sound

And I'm walking the border
Between Heaven and Hell
My heart's in repair
And it's kiss it’s kiss it’s kiss and tell

Yes I'm walking the border
Between Heaven and Hell
My heart's in despair
From the kiss and kiss and kiss and tell

I don't like that everyone in this thread has basically the same premise with the title. I thought I was being creative.
-----------
I feel it inside
It hurts
I can't take it
God please help me

I don't know what I'm doing here
I can see but I'm blind
I can hear but I'm deaf
If this world has meaning I can not find

Take me away form this place
Take me away I'm delirious
Take away my shoelaces
I'll do myself in I'm serious

Walking the border between sane and insane
Walking the line between love and hate
Don't tell me to calm down to settle down
Just tell me I'm alright even I'm not!!

I think I lost it a long time ago
But doing the same stuff everyday
I couldn't see my sickness grow
And no one bothered to notice my ways

Strap me tight to a table
Throw me into a padded cell
A hundreds years it'll be a fable
When I took us all down to hell

Walking the border between sane and insane
Walking the line between love and hate
Don't tell me to calm down to settle down
Just tell me I'm alright even I'm not!!

Strike me down before I strike
Knock me out before I bite
I'm not voilent but I'll fight
I am not sane I am not right

I once was a brilliant man
But that man isn't here anymore
All that's left of what I once was
Is a demon in sin begging for more

Walking the border between sane and insane
Walking the line between love and hate
Don't tell me to calm down to settle down
Just tell me I'm alright even I'm not!!

Tell me I'm alright
Even if I'm not
Am I going to be alright?

Walking the border between sane and insane
Walking the line between love and hate
Don't tell me to calm down to settle down
Just tell me I'm alright even I'm not!!

Walking the Border
by Prose/AIC Industries

you gloss over the details
i smell blood on your hands
these are commodity futures
choose health or decline

who's holding whom captive?
the spectre of revolution!

walking the border or toeing the line
walking the border or toeing the line
walking the border or toeing the line
walking the border or toeing the line

red flags lay in tatters on the gravel
agriculture is only glancingly referenced in modernity

walking the border or toeing the line
walking the border or toeing the line
walking the border or toeing the line
walking the border or toeing the line

(can't believe no one's actually written a topical/protest song about sneaking over the border from Mexico to the U.S... on either side of the issue. oh well, I didn't either)

by FLVXXVM FLORVM

I remember the night
I gave you my heart
and I know it ain't right
the way they tore us apart.

and I'm walking the border 'tween day and night
searching for my baby.
I'm walking the border 'tween death and life
looking for my baby.

I remember the way
you set me free.
I remember the day
they took you from me.

now I'm walking the border 'tween the death and life
searching for my baby.
eager to taste their blood on my knife
fightin' for my baby, yeah.

I remember the joy
when we fell in love.
If I have to destroy
the angels above.

and I'm walking the border 'tween death and life
searching for my baby.
I'm walking the border 'tween day and night
looking for my baby, yeah.

Walking the Border
(The Tremendous Seattle Circumnavigation)
by Ben Tansey, for Octothorpe

Sittin’ at home with plenty to do
But the sun was shining, and so were my shoes
My feet got in, next thing I knew
Kroll gave me a way to choose

Chorus
I’m on the Tremendous Se-attle Circum-navigation
It’s a mu-nicipal in-ves-tigation
Seeing the city from every angle
Walking every road without deviation

Counselor said you’re gonna get gout
Gotta take the truest route
Protect the purity of the path
Exercisin' the pedestrian’s wrath

Chorus

Not even once did I avert my eyes
Bluffs, airports, fences, tides
Lots of things try block the way
But around every obstacle, there’s a way

Chorus

Lawton, Bitterlake, Denny Blaine
Cedar Park, Bothell Way, Laurel Crest Lane
Alki, Bryn Mawr, Madison Park
Got lost in Magnuson in the dark

Chorus

Alas, it's true, my feet got thrashed
By every bit of border I went passed
But the paper said it'd never been done
And best of all, I had a lotta fun

Chorus

I was gonna write a much more serious number paralleling the proposed US southern border fence with the gates to heaven being closed because they don't want any illegals let into heaven. The "walking the border" would be between this life and the next. The kicker at the end was going to be the main character's ghost slipping across the border (illegally) into heaven and finding out that the mandatory language was Spanish. But I just couldn't get the lyric to flow, so I wrote a song about playing the board game Monopoly.

Song Fight Song 048
Walking The Border

This is not the game of Life
No plastic cars, no plastic wives
Just feet on the street, taking in the sights
I’m walking the border

Just past the big Free Parking sign
All the green houses in a line
Remind me of another time
I was walking the border

This is all just a game of Chance
Community Chest and high finance
But out on the streets it’s a little tense
I’m walking the border

Passing the swanky part of town
Go to jail for acting like a clown
Get out free and come back around
I’m walking the border

Last time I took the houses down and put up hotels that made me the talk of the town
This time I’m not doing so well, I’ve got a pair of dice and boot that’s starting to smell
Oh, well
I’m still walking the border

Walking the Border
by Jon Eric

Lyrics, vocals, and all instruments are Jon Eric's fault

Tell me how you wound up here with me
Tell me how I know your name
And tell me why there's all these faces in the sky
Will things ever be the same?

Oooh, I hear them say they're gonna take away the life support
Yeah, I hear them say they're gonna pull the plug

And I'm walking the border
I'm walking the border

Show me what my life will look like when I'm not around
Show me why I want to live
'Cause tonight I think I'm running out of fight
And I know something's gotta give

Ooh, I hear you say you'll keep a vigil 'til I convalesce
Yeah, you say you'll hold my hand until I wake up

And now I'm walking the border
Weighing out the pros and cons
Now I'm walking the border
Until both sides are gone

[organ solo]

Ooh, I feel a pulsing in the rhythm of a minuet
Yeah, it's like a beeping at the speed of blood

And I'm walking the border
Searching for a greener lawn
Yeah, now I'm walking the border
Until both sides are gone

And now I'm walking the border
Searching for that last rope to hold on
And now I'm walking the border
Until both sides are...
