Hardly a Moment
by Jon Eric
Now I know what my face looks like when I'm with her
Do all the laugh lines all around your eyes make everything a blur?
Hand in hand / Strong fights
Badlands / Long nights
You can / wrong rights
But I will hold her like you used to
Yes I will hold her like you used to
Now I don't know how she'll react to it, if I leave
But since you made that hard decision, it's hard to breathe
I try / to be there
Why fly? / It's not fair
She cries / and I swear
That I will hold her like you used to
I'll try to hold her like you used to
Hardly a moment goes by when I don't hear
The tremor in her voice / How could you make that choice?
Hardly a moment goes by when I don't feel
A little less alive / Don't know how you survived
It feels so familiar until your instincts kick in
You're so at home and the moment is gone
We've got our cross to bear / You've got your loss
I know you always do what's best for you, when push comes to shove
But I don't get how you could break the heart of someone you claim to love
I try / to be there
Why fly? / It's not fair
She cries / and I swear
That I will hold her like you used to
I'll try to hold her like you used to
Yes, I will hold her like you used to
I will hold her like you used to
