Worked hard for several hours Yesterday determining which direction we won't be going in. Well, back at it tonight!

You jest, but some of my best ideas have come in the final few hours before a deadline, after scrapping the idea I'd been working with. My "Time to Panic" was one of those, and it won the round!

Just recorded alomst the whole ukulele track and vocals and I'm really happy with it. Except I didn't tune the ukulele before and now I've realised that every string was flat, so I have to rerecord it or I can't play along to it :(

I warned you last round.

Unless you are actually Polynesian, there is really no reason to:
a) get a tattoo, or
b) play the ukulele

Another good life rule to go by is:
if you are a man, but you are NOT a 17th century Carribbean pirate - then don't wear ear rings.

I more or less agree with your other two rules there, but the ukulele is an instrument of wonder, and it would be unfair to restrict the use of its magic to the Pacific isles.

If the challenge and my state of being or not being in the competition allow it, I will get my uke out next week.

I do have ear rings and I'm not from the 17th Century, the Caribbean, or a pirate. If this carries on I might turn out to be the Anti-Ray? (Actually that's quite a good band name :) )

I've written some verses, and I have the rumblings of a chorus bounding around in my head. I was trying to figure out how to shoehorn a round in there, but I think I just discovered that the verse melody works as a round! Go me!

finished vocals last night. may do some harmonies tomorrow, but i'm actually ahead of the game now.

i'm pretty happy with my song...it's snotty and bitter and a weird sort of post punk thing. and it's very short, for those with short attention spans.

I think my song is almost done. All recorded and just in need of some mixing and mastering (whatever that is, but it sounds legit right?)

I think it's not bad, I threw a large chunk of ok stuff away so hopefully it's only the creamiest cream left. We'll see :)

I so feel your pain! That's what I've been doing all day. Version 4 might be passable, musically. Mixed & roughly mastered (the music bed, that is). Sunday to (re)write/record/&c. the lyrics to match the music. (Gig tomorrow night, gotta focus on that Saturday.)

I hope someone's able to convert Row Row Row Your Boat to a multi-instrumental arrangement and not make it sound too much like the source material. I sure as hell wasn't able to  Not with piano, bass, and vibraphone, anyway.

Good challenge, judges!

Nur Ein!!!!!!

...wow, Logic's Binaural Panning is pretty weird. I think I like it.

post-postscript: Kimi's opinion "Cartoon music." Heh. There's non-round resolution in the end, judges, I'm not that cruel ;)

I am on my fifth try. I know exactly what to do. There's really no reason for all this trouble. The idea I'm working on is so tacky I really need to stop. Right now. I need to back away from this idea. I need to move on to the next document, close the document, and never think of this idea again. I just needed to type it somewhere public. I maybe should go back to one of the other perfectly good ideas that I pitched silly fits at. I don't know what's wrong with me. Flah.

Sometimes I worry about you when you makes these kinds of posts, but then your eventual entry is always top notch, so I guess that's just your process. ^_^

Not to worry! My sixth idea was better, so am resultingly going with my seventh.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm hoping this round goes swish at least a smallish amount. :) Or enoughishly.

So I suppose I should wrap up verse 2 and chorus out into the sunset...
