I got a quite a bit done on my song today, I think it's going to be the best one I've done for SongFight/SideFight yet, but I may just be high on Dr. Pepper.

I have just realised, halfway through recording, that I have reprised the vocal melody (and chords too I think) from my SongFight entry for City In Fog (http://www.songfight.org/music/city_in_ ... nt_cif.mp3) hopefully it turns out alittle more tuneful though :)

I was feeling pretty nervous about this weeks entry until last nights uber productive session. Now the song is solid and only production tweaks lay ahead, but I'm still concerned I've shot us in the foot by being totally vulgar and disgusting....again!

I just typed a lyric so cheezy that my computer transformed into a salty snack cracker.
I shall fix this problem, and recording will soon commence. Good grief.

Hey, I need a founder/judge ruling on this: Is it permissible to recruit guest performers when the challenge does not specifically require it? My song is shaping up into one that would sound amazing as a duet.

The precident was set by Mr Big Face in the Schadenfreude fight. JB appeared and he went on to win that fight.

I am not a judge this time, so they should chime in.

Pretty sure Ken used a guest for the challenge "bass solo" which may have been all the way back in the first ein!

I think there have been many guests over the years. Didn't frankie just bring in a guest drummer and vocal choir for the last round even?

Well, uh... kind of. I got, as the challenge requires, "creative."

Well, I accidentally sent in Thinkin' About The Old Days. So, I'm glad I did that early so I can now go rectify it.

I worked on my track all last night (until 5 AM) ... got all the instrumental done (I think) and I have the lyrics & melody ... now I just have to do all of the vocals (the hard part for me.) Hopefully I don't pass out. Allergies, man.

Just submitted mine. It has some good bits, some bad bits. Completely unsure if it will totally bomb or not.

Thanks For The Frisbee wrote:
i remember a nur ein in the past when my computer crashed in the middle of the week, i had to BUY a new one and install everything AND only two of our members could even contribute to the song...one being me. i didnt record anything until a few hours before the deadline, and i didnt bitch about it. so you'll be fine...if you stop bitching about it. you are a great competitor and a landmark songfighter...i view having the family gone as a huge advantage...so just get in the zone and nail it man.

Oh yeah...and while moving house, my computer died. Bugger.

Luckily my wife took her iPad to Singapore and left her laptop at home.

So I got something.
