The Big Fight

Post by Niveous »

Hey everyone,

2013 has been a pretty good year at Songfight. We had a great SFL in Austin. Nur Ein was a blast and we had a GOM where everyone got a gift. There have been all sorts of positives. But one thing bugs me about this year... We need more songs. Looking at the archive, this has been a kinda small year. I think we should change that and do one more amazing thing this year. I'm proposing that this next Songfight, no matter the title, we make it the biggest fight ever. We enter songs, we do collabs, we call up those friends who have always said that they wanted to Songfight, we call up those Songfighters we haven't seen in a while and we make one gigantic fight.

Why?

Because we are songfighters and we do crazy stuff like this!

So, let's get a title and do this thing!

Bring it on. If he wants to a Lord of Oats song and do another song teamed up with Snappy & Floyd. Just not the thing where he does 3 solo songs and just gives different band names. That defeats the purpose.

But enough about him, question is are you in for the big fight idea?

Heaven knows I have time on my hands. I would try to be in, unless the title totally stumped me.

As for reviewing upwards of sixty songs, I'm not so sure. I kind of lose steam around twenty.

Sure! Thursday through Sunday I have plenty of free time. Read: My girlfriend works most of those days! (Hope she isn't reading this...) But, uh, yeah!

The record number of songs in a fight: 55 (Love Me A Little Bit More)
It has a 10 page review thread. :)

Lately I've been feeling pretty discouraged about Song Fight! It's feeling very stagnant to me and like it's only barely hanging in there. Maybe this could be a good shot in the arm. I'd be game to try to make a song, but it'd have to be this weekend, as I won't really have any other time until the New Year. I suspect a lot of folks will be pretty busy with the holidays.

Is that because no one is reviewing or are you just winning too much?

No need to wonder about the ebbs and flows of Songfight, let's work on getting more than 55 bands in this next fight!

Ah, er, um. I didn't mean for that to sound like sour grapes. :) I don't want to go into the details too much and derail this thread. Things just feel a little slow and quiet, on songfight.org and on the boards.

I'm in.

Looking forward to the new title - whatever it is.
