4/26/15 AC/DC

Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

I Love AC/DC!
Jailbreak is a good call! I like the Brian Johnson stuff, and I'm happy they continued without Bon, but all the Bon Scott albums are the best. Powerage is my favorite, but they're all good.
In the 80s we used to have air concerts and film videos of ourselves pretending to be bands. AC/DC was by far the most popular. I probably play Gibson guitars because of how much I love the tone of the Young brothers guitars.
Many girls in Junior High used to ask me to serenade them with "Big Balls", so that song has a special place in my heart.

I was at a Mark Kozelek concert, he started playing this beautiful song, with very poetic deep lyrics. It was weird because I knew every word and sang along, I didn't realize what the song was until the chorus: "If you want blood". Just proves how powerful context and presentation is.

AC/DC is a fantastic concert too, I had terrible seats at a stadium and even in the bad seats everyone was standing up and rocking along.

I can imagine Caravan Ray doing a cover of Can I Sit Next to You Girl. I must mention Let there be Rock, and Sin City. So many good songs!

My pick is If You Want Blood.
Phillipso, Older Brothers, Semolina Pilchards, Zipline , Thank Glennny for the Frisbee, The Odoriferous Valley, The Worldly Self Assurance, Berkeley Social Scene, Very Gentle Knives, Daddy Bop Swing Set, GUNS, The Kraken Lives, Cavedwellers

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. The whole album, or that song in particular.

I have to say Dirty Deeds, too, only because Back in Black and You Shook Me All Night Long are overplayed.

I'm leaning toward "Thunderstruck", but they all sound pretty similar to me.

As Angus Young once said... "I'm sick and tired of people saying that we put out 11 albums that sound exactly the same. In fact, we've put out 12 albums that sound exactly the same."

My pick is "Hells Bells."

I love every song on the Back in Black album! Ever single mother effing fucking song, I tellz ya! All of them! Every single string pluck, every single chord strum, every single drum hit, almost every single vocal note and every single backup vocal. All of it! I even like the amount of space between each song. Robert Lange is an odd and amazing producer. He might just be a lizard person or in the Illuminati. Because he's too amazing to be human. :)

Also, any of the early bluesy Bon Scott stuff gets me every time.

Hmmm…not sure about that one. But I have been known to knock out the occasional solo guy-tar version of T.N.T on stage (and used to play bass/vox on it my band when I was a teenager).

First off, I would like to state that this Roll Call pick was brought to you by one of the most humorous impulse buys I've made in a long time. On Saturday, I took my kids to the local Gamestop to pick up video games as prizes for their good report cards. That's when I got the best worst idea. For less than 10 bucks, I bought GUitar Hero: Aerosmith, Rock: Revolution, Power Gig: Rise of the Six String, and Rock Band AC/DC. I dusted off the plastic guitar and the rest was hilarious.

Honorable mention to "Money Talks" and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap". My favorite is Who Made Who
