Circle of Titles VI

Post by JonPorobil »

Hi everyone! We're near the end of Nur Ein, so that means it's time for another round of Circle of Titles!!!!!!

Last year, I had everyone submit multiple titles, so that the contestants had their pick. I personally didn't care for this twist on the format, but I'm open to trying it again if you all thought it was more fun than "original flavor" Circle of Titles, or appreciated having your choice in titles. Let's talk about it in the comments, and I'll announce before the title deadline whether we'll go with one title or multiples this year. I've decided to use the same rules as last year. Two titles from each participant, please.

Here are the rules, for anyone who's never done this before:
1.) Everyone who wants in announces their intention to participate. (Or not; if you want to surprise us, that's cool with me)
2.) Each participant thinks up two titles and submits them to me.
2a.) Please do not make your titles purposefully nonsensical or difficult for the recipient.
3.) I randomize stuff up so that each person gets someone else's titles, and send those back.
4.) Each person records a song for one of the titles they get.
5.) At the end, the songs will be posted, along with the revelation of who submitted what title.
6.) Titles are then up for grabs for whoever wants extra credit. Also, there will be an opportunity to for others to step up and record songs for the "stiffees."
7.) For the record, I'll be participating, too. Yes, that's a little unfair. Get over it.

Here's my thinking for this year's schedule: Get the titles to me in two weeks (Friday, June 10th, one minute prior to midnight).
I'll randomize the titles and assign them over the few days following that deadline, and they'll be due on Sunday, July 10th (one minute prior to midnight). Note that this is a little longer than usual, because I didn't want to set the deadline over 4th of the July weekend.

Who's in?

Participating so far:
Jon Eric
Inflatable Vegetables
fluffy (maybe)*
Micah Sommersmith
Enter it in the Art Show
PepperJane
Nick Soma
Levittdown
johnny cashpoint
Caravan Ray
Jan Krueger
Heuristics Inc
Ben Krieger

(Asterisks indicate that I haven't yet received a title from the person indicated.)

I appreciated having a choice of titles. I will submit 2 titles but star one in case people decide to go original flava.

Inflatable Vegetables has already sent me two titles, and they were kind enough to mark which one should be used if we're going to revert to the single-title format. Great idea!

For posterity's sake, let's clarify. If you send me two titles and we wind up just doing one title per entrant, then I'll assume the first one listed is the one to use (unless otherwise specified).

Just submitted my titles.
BTW, I think it would be fun to post an optional challenge along with the title(s). What do you think?

I don't know about two titles and an optional challenge. Feels like it's getting too complicated for me. Maybe one or the other?

I'll give it a shot, but will pass on making format suggestions since I'm a newbie.

2 titles sounds ok. optional challenge is probably unnecessary.

I went for the ridiculous this year. If the title you received is really stupid, there's a big chance it's mine. (Second title is less stupid - but if you want a real challenge...)

Cool! We've got a respectable list of volunteers, and titles from almost everyone! (I'm still missing titles from j$ and Heuristics, and fluffy hasn't made up their mind yet.)

There's still time if you want to participate! Just shoot me a couple of titles and (optionally) post here! And remember, the titles are due by midnight tomorrow. I'll mix 'em up and send them out over the weekend.

Also, thanks to whomever posted this in the "News" section on the homepage... Sam or fluffy?
