Dean Sky:

This is good, voices work together, and nice lounge groove. A lot of good stuff in there, the flute. I think I’ll keep this.

I feel like my reviews are pretty pointless sometimes, but there's some insight here. And I know some people who like reading feedback no matter how worthless it seems to the feedback-giver.

SHIVER ME' TIMBERS! PIECES O' EIGHT.

The Beresfordians: I read your band name as The Beforesdians for the whole week. I like this and think that the various styles mesh well together to produce something above average. The affected backup feel in my right ear is a neat kind of unsettling. Overall, I'm not sure what kind of mood this song is supposed to establish. I feel mellow but it's like the lyrical message is a little more violent, or maybe I'm imagining that.

Dean Sky: This piece is long and seems very static. Although smooth, I'm left yearing for a lot more during the second half of listens beyond the first. It's interesting how the smoothness fits almost a little uncomoftably sometimes. Like the vocals and music are a little queasy being in the same room. Hehe, I'm probably imagining that. PS- I thought it was weird that some people loved this so much.

Hostess Mostess: I do not think this is dripping with pseudointellectualism or whatever. This seems interesting and I'm happy to hear a new Mostess track. Hehe, I have a friend who hates you and I guess it is kind of cheesy, and that guess feels more certain when the hand claps or whatnot come in, but whatever. I will enjoy myself while the derision of my friends rains down on me. Analyze that. This mix doesn't sound terribly muddy to me at first, but then I can kind of see what you're talking about later on. I'll listen to Blue's remix in a bit.

Johnny Cashpoint: The countdown is cute, but your pirate laughter is lacking. Of course, I've never met a sea-faring pirate. They might actually sound like that. You might actually be one. I like how electronic this pirate shanty is. That laugh still seems super cheesy every time I hear it though. Almost like an out of place sample. I read your lyrics before I heard the song and I expected "Pirates attack" to be more "PIRATES ATTACK!!!§§§!!!" /shrug

link vs. music: Hehe, I always feel silly saying things like this, but there's a buzz in your mix that's pretty annoying. You clearly know it's there since it does that weird thing to leave at the end. If it's intentional, I'd suggest trying to make sure the other musical elements don't all get sucked into the weird gap in my hearing that it creates. It sounds like it's muddying the vocals. Maybe this is because I'm listening on headphones. My builtin speakers suck, so I can't check. I like the simple little melody going on in the background that fades out last. I wish it was more varying and ever-so-slightly more prominent.

You are right. I don't think you should be so upset about people saying they don't feel moved by your music. Don't fret. It's a fun sound.

MENBAH!: Are you Guybrush Threepwood? I like this track more every time I hear it. Good job combining those instruments...with such a simple carribean pirate feel. Somebody said you showed a lot of charming restraint, and that's an accurate review. Cool track.

That is accurate. It's very pretty! I think it's true that the guy and girl sound really far apart a little unnecessarily.

Phunt Your Friends: I'm pretty sure this is 100% homemade, sample-wise. I think the talking at the very beginning that runs through very quietly is actually a recording of the mess hall at Mogosagatai's school, Noise Brigade (You are probably crazy). Thanks for listening and sometimes reviewing, all.

rilladope: I didn't enjoy this. Your vocal delivery and the lyrics are the only things to listen to for a long time. Those two things didn't strike me as strong. I couldn't appreciate it much. Don't stop submitting or anything, but uh... don't stop getting better. Some of the changes like when that raucous battle sample breaks out or when you change your timbre a bit are something slightly interesting. Maybe look into doing that more often.

the Seamus Collective: Whoa whoa whoa. Filthy Nooker pieces of eight? Was that a reference? If it was, I'm honored because this is a smooth little track with some moves. It sounds like Filthy Looker after that... regardless, smooth, suave.

Steve Durand: Whoa whoa whoa. This is super cheesy, so ... good job. You know it's good. You probably also realize that you'd need a vocalist to really sell this act in the 40s, right? Don't fret. It's a fun sound.

Your "popularity" seems to run in cycles, dude. Like the first 10 votes of the fight are for various people, and then the Dope gets real popular for a bit, like for 8-10 votes in a row, then back to various people for a while, then 10 more for the Dope. Must be the moon or something, I just don't know...

I love this. Love it, love it. The only thing I’ve noticed in my 27 listens is that near the end, once or twice, I’d like to hear you sing four lines instead of two at a time, just for a little variety. But your phrasing and rhyming is really interesting. Great work. Vote.
