As I decided to go to sleep at 3:30 or whatever, it finally hit me how devastated I am that Sleater-Kinney broke up.

Last night I did do the litter box, but I did not dye my hair or shave my legs, so it's pants again for me! It is Wednesday though, which means that Kimberly won't be there! Kimberly is who the Hell Yeahs' So Kind Stacey is based on. Yep, I love Wednesdays! I don't have a single meeting scheduled today at work! So far, so good.

I did fall alseep in my chair last night, then woke up and went to actual bed at almost midnight. Up at 5:30am, tired, but it's shaping up to be a good day. That's all for now!

Here at the base of the White Mountains in New Hampshire it's one of those days that makes you forget how much the previous winter sucked. It rained the night before, but the sky is bright and cloudless now. Even though it's still brisk this morning, I can tell it's going to be a nice warm day.

Perfect day for a road trip. After work, I'm driving to North Conway. A local band called Pay The Piper needs a fill-in on bass for the evening. They've got some nice original stuff, and they also cover Money by Pink Floyd, and a few Police tunes that I love to play. Good fun. I hear the sushi is very good at Delaney's, but I haven't tried it. Word on the street is, that stuff is raw fish.

Today is my son's 15th birthday. It's strange when you kid is most definitely and completely a teenager. First thing I think is... damn it. Parents lied to me. There is no difference between teen and adult, just fucking bills.

So, keep having fun my son, cause life is gonna bill you on it soon.

That said, we got him a PS2 (yeah...behind the times... oh well, he asked for it).

My son is amazing... the kid studies, gets A's and a few B's, never complains about chores, does them all just as he's asked, doesn't party, doesn't drink, is a great older brother... I am very grateful to have a kid like that. He has a spot in our home as long as he needs it!! (Parents who kick kids out DRIVE ME FUCKING NUTS.).

Otherwise, it's Wed. AS it's the start of prawn season, there's a good chance I'm at work until 9 pm. grrrrrr.

And I got new drumheads last night. I've been a remo man for years, usually I use pinstripes on the toms, a powerstroke on teh kick and ambassadors on the snare...but lately, I've been playing a buddy's yamaha kit that has evans G2 on them... I started using an evans snare head on my snare (can't remember what one...it's the drum head with the tiny holes all around the rim...sounds great) so ... I went and grabbed all new evans for the kit... both bass drum heads, batters on the toms, batter on the snare (forgot to grab a resonant head for the snare bottom... )

I have NO idea when I'm putting them on , hopefully on sunday. A new sound for my kit... I'm kinda excited and nervous at the same time!

Another sunny morning in Arizona. Dogs walked and fed, finished putting together copies of some CDs for my kitchen crew in cooking class, and making some copies of the "Making of..." DVD that I put together for a short film project I worked on as part of my Sound Design Class (using my "A Variation on Two" as the music and still shots from the film shoot as the visuals). Invitations for our cooking class final dinner are done, too; hope I got all the details right. The pool repair guy is here working on extracting more money from us.

And so, for today: taking my mom to a doctor's appointment at 10:20, back to her house, sound design class from 1-3 (today may be the last meeting, I'm not even sure), pick up the dogs at my mom's house and take them back to our house, back over to school around 4:30 or 5:00 to try to figure out how to set up the tables next week for our class dinner, and then home and to bed after class around ten.

The deadline for submitting Evil April is still an hour or so away, but I haven't even started mixing it down and I have other stuff to deal with, so no KA song this week. Since I've been so bad at reviews (and even listening and voting) lately, it's probably best to not bother to send the song in when I know it's weak (poorly written) anyway. Maybe next time.

I'm going to Orlando, Florida today (Mmm, Spiderman 3 "premiere" and then a few days of rollercoastering! :D) I went into school this morning, mostly because AP tests are in a week or two, and mass studying/review tests are taking place, so missing those classes is just a bitch. In the next half hour I need to pack. I hate packing, I'm always worried I'll forget something. I have a middle seat in the plane. Bleeeegh.

Other than Florida stuff, I got a facebook friend request from Deshead. Confused me though, as I had no idea who he was(well, who his 'real' person was, anyway.)

I also found out that the spring musical for next year has two syllables. Past that, I don't know. The fall drama is Auntie Mame, which is fun. (British Drunk Old Lady characters? Psh, I could do that in my sleep).
Songfighter since back in the day.

Today's song choice = <a href="http://glenncase.blogspot.com/2007/05/d ... l">Elliott Smith - "Say Yes"</a>

On the "to do" list:

* Attend brother-in-law's college graduation
* Listen to and rate Nur Ein entries
* Lay down vocals for a Captain S related song
* Continue the cassette to CD transfer that is now half done.

I know I have more going on, but these are the basics. The roll calls have been making me aware of just how little I accomplish in comparison to what I have in mind. Maybe my participation in these threads will help me to improve in that area.

ROCK!

Today so far, I got up and ate toast. Then I showered.

I have a final in my fiction writing class at 7. Then maybe I'll go to a skating rink for my friend's birthday. It's a last minute idea. At some point I'm going to the library to check out the Best of Toots and the Maytals. I ought to study some Spanish at some point. I need to do well on my Spanish final (friday) in order to move on to the next Spanish class.

I need to go buy some paper towels and a 2 liter of Sprite. I might stop by Best Buy and use a gift card from Christmas on the new Feist album.

Within the next week I need to finish all the shitty beer (PBR and Coors Light) that my friends left at my house after recording the first Møurning Brëth album. PBR sucks, but the scary thing is that I'm getting used to drinking it.

Wow. PBR. I have tried it maybe six times in the last year or so, and every time I struggle to get through one. Some cheap beers I can deal with, but that one, I dunno man. At least it's got a distinctive character, I'll say that much for it.
Genessee Cream Ale, on the other hand, is a very drinkable cheap beer for me. I mean, they had to start selling it in 30-packs just so they could fit all the awards they've won on the box.

Beer, cheap or otherwise, doesn't figure into my plans tonight. The commute is too long and too late for all that.

Yeah, a PBR is very tough to get through. My friend brought it because it is very cheap. I think he also associates PBR with metal for some reason. It was a 30 pack and no one drank any, so it's just been sitting there. I've made it about halfway through. So if any songfighters will be going through Muncie in the next week, let me know and we will drink shit beer.

The only thing worse than PBR: "that guy" who doesn't like PBR, but drinks it (always lable out so everyone can see with thier black glasses) to be ironic. Which, ironically, went out in the 90s.

I turned in my Nur Ein song an hour and a half late.
Listened to the other entries. Awesome I might add.
Fixed the heater on my pool after putting it off for about a month.
Sitting at my desk and finishing up some bids.
Had 2 tacos and a bean burrito for lunch.
In the mood for one of those drumsticks with the chocolate fudge injected in the ice cream.
Need to get work done and stop thinking of ice cream
Feel like taking a nap
Have huge steaks waiting for me to BBQ tonight
Drinking Lipton Green Tea *good for me*

Long may you rock! Chris signing out

So, my day was sub-par, mostly due to school being dumb. And me sucking at psychology presentations. And blanking in front of the whole class. And having everyone stare at me like I'm a tool. I'll get over it, but that might have been the worst school experience I've had so far. Aside from that, I'll be listening to Nur Ein and going to church. Bye.
By the way ...

How do you do that? I want to put a christmas tape onto CD before it deteriorates, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Roger.

You have set yourself up for this my man... prepare to be slagged:

Might I suggest that school is not dumb, as it is not a persona? Perhaps the dumbness rested in your poorly prepared presentation? I know I was stunned by the way you stood there...nervously twitching. Jen was stunned too.

I got Olivegrower & Processor finished up yesterday, which was good. This isssue has been the most pain free yet, I am quite pleased.

After work I took the Shaggoth I have been pinning together for my brother around to Mum and Dads. He was late home from TAFE, they have changed all the bus timetables, but he was happy to see it together in his usual, unemotional way. Then we watched video game cinematics that he had downloaded.

Legs slept in this morning, so we missed the regular work train. We had to get the one after, which stops at more stations, and today, was the seats-hard-as-rock variety of public transport.

Now I'm at work, and Lu is already flying into a rage over this new directory she is working on. I must admit, though, it is completely warranted. This particular publication is a fucking mess.

Dude. two forties of PBR is way under-rated. I can get through bottles and cans of the stuff, both, too. The thing about PBR is... and I'm paraphrasing something Spud once said on another topic... it doesn't taste good, but at least it has a taste. Miller, Bud, Busch, Coors--why bother? And it was mentioned in Blue Velvet, which is a good movie. QED
