Ben Foxworthy – Positives: good singing, nice guitar sound, and clever premise. Also, the chorus hook is catchy. Negatives: although the rhyming is clever throughout, this song needs editing. It should be cut in length by about 1/3. Also, the story has no ending. If you build the whole song up to a confrontation, don’t cut to a guitar solo, scream about what happens. I was disappointed at that part. Something I don’t understand: the song talks at lengths about how April is filled with love for both her master and her master’s enemies, so how is she evil? Because she is a clone? Are you saying all clones are inherently evil, no matter what the situation? She does nothing evil or even has an evil thought throughout the entire song. The vague ending alludes to the real (“good”) April murdering the Evil April. What? Who is supposed to be the evil one? Oh, and the plural of “ninja” is “ninja”, not “ninjas". Nitpicky? Yeah, sure, but that pulled me right out of the song.

Thanks for all the feedback! I'm glad you liked it. I agree that the song needed to be tightened up quite a bit in terms of length - I made sure my Ran Away to Paris was under 3 minutes. I'll answer your questions, since you seemed interested.

This was supposed to imply that April shot and killed Evil April, releasing her from her moral dilemmas. That was the ending. Maybe that wasn't clear enough - I intended to give that verse more work, but I didn't have time.

"Evil April" is simply her name. That's what Shredder wrote on the clone-certificate when he pulled her out of the clonepod. She is "just an evil clone" in the sense that that's what everybody thinks of her and expects her to be. And, for a while, she tries to fulfill that role, even though it conflicts with her personal feelings.

Regarding the pluralization of ninja.... I didn't really give it much thought. However, my definitive ninja resource - http://www.realultimatepower.net - uses the word "ninjas".

the harmonic in the name is ironic right? IronicHarmonic? I can’t actually get through this – it’s all ovah the place, and not in a particularly appealing way. Also drum machine is weak. Guitar sounds OK – what can I hear through the ugly screeching.

I guess you’ve heard by now that your drums are too loud in the mix. If you turned them down, the programmedness of them would not stand out as much. But, I do like the essence of this song, and certain parts are nailed well. I would like to hear more.
