Hey y'all.

Today is just another day where I'm gonna go bust my hump at the job. Nothing else really special going on. And as a pro-wrestling fan, today makes zero sense. (they killed Mr. McMahon last night in a car bombing??? What happened? The Sopranos didn't have a crazy end so the world needed to balance somewhere?)

Question of the Day:
Inspired the most heinous act perpetrated against the Redmons yesterday (How could you steal a kiddie slide? Bastards), today's question is: Have you ever had a run in with the law?

I've stayed on the straight and narrow most of my life. I've had the joy of racial profiling before. Nothing like walking your dog and getting surrounded by cops because a black guy elsewhere robbed a bank and they just needed to make sure it wasn't you. (did the bank robber have a Pekinese in tow during the robbery? Perhaps the dog assisted in the getaway or I used it as a weapon?). My only real incidents with the law have been 1- the stupidity of trying to sneak onto the subway and 2- an incident of getting busted having sex in public. The latter is a hilarious story but not one I'm gonna share online. If any of y'all ever meet me in person, you can request a telling of that tale.

I got confirmation this morning -- I'm doing the Second Stage gig on August 10 at Meadowbrook! I'm playing sets before and after the Weird Al Yankovic show. I say it again: Holy crap.

Oops, I spoiled 1 insane minute in a 3 hour show. Oh well. There's enough crazy makes no sense stuff in the rest of the show for you to continue to be entertained. The carbombing was just the WTF at the end.

When I was 19 I got caught with an ounce of pot split into 6 different baggies.

3 quarters
2 half quarters
1 personal stash

Felony charge, was reduced to a misdemeanor after friend's a lawyer, whos car I was in, (the friend, not the lawyer) got his charge reduced.

I got an $800 fine and 8 months probation bringing the total to $880. Which I considered overhead for the $2,000 estimate that I made that summer. Only time I have ever been arrested.

Once in a graveyard on Halloween the cops interupted our game of hide and seek and called the parents of the girls we were with. We just suffered the taunting threats of jail by the cops and the humiliation of those 'disappointed looks' we got from their parents. (the girls, not the cops) The cops let us guys go home. Coincidently, thats the same graveyard I would get arrested in a year later.

Tuesday, another day another dollar. Nothing, NOTHING going on.

Not really a run in with the law, but I did once spend a whole day in a womens prison (designing an on-site sewage treatment plant).

It was great, just like the German videos you can buy on the intertet. Me and the girls all stripped down our underwear and had a pillow fight.

When I was 13 a friend and I were caught with a 6 pack by the sheriff. Took us to the station and called our parents. After a "gotta have the talk" talk, watched Carol Burnett with mom.

About 15 years ago I was with a group of 18 people skinny dipping late at night in Spofford Lake, N.H. Some people may have been a little drunk. The police busted us, and set a court date! Half of us were from out of state, so a court date during the week was a true drag. We were able to cover for 3 local teachers getting away who didn't need the attention, but the rest of us showed up in court (clothed). The judge laughed and said the cop who summoned us was a real jerk, essentially, and let us go. We had a pancake breakfast celebration at a Putney sourdough pancake house in the shape of an igloo. Still have that citation somewhere...

That's as exciting as it gets for me. There were close calls, of course, but my friends and I were usually able to keep a low profile.

My friend and I were really bored so she decided to light an old bbq on fire. Turns out it wasn't THAT old and it sort of exploded. And lit her neighbours garage on fire. We did the smart thing and ran away. The cops caught up with us three hours later and we spent a day and a half in jail. Then a month later she lit her pants on fire at school. I've been a good kid ever since

Not proud of it, but not ashamed to file a lesson learned drunk driving arrest story. Out of work early on the Friday before a Tuesday Christmas, 1990, we partied at one of my co-workers house 'til late afternoon. Speedily taking a guy home, all yee-haw, as my car's two front tires hit the first white line of a crosswalk and sending a pedestrian leaping to the curb, the other line was being tired by a cop cruiser. In jail by supper time to start the long holiday weekend. Yee-haw indeed! Court, money, time, drunk school and 90 days of being picked up for work in my own car definitely inspired me not to repeat that mistake, not forgetting almost smooshing someone with a car. I've been drunk many times since, but will not drive after drinking even a little. One of the very few iron clad never bend rules I carry. I always interpret the guy making it safely to the curb as kind of a last warning to me...next time you won't be so lucky, punk!

So, I'll be glad to have a pint with anyone here as long as we walk or you don't mind someone napping on your couch 'til it's coffee time.

I'm typing this from prison.

I used to get in trouble a lot when I was younger. Nothing serious, but almost always drug and or alcohol related. Our gigs would get kind of violent at times. I was always getting hurt for some reason. One time I broke my collar bone and had to go to the hospital after a show. Some out of control assf**ks were stage diving and one of them tripped and plowed into me and knocked me off the stage. I went down with a monitor and landed on it wrong. Then the idiot landed on top of me. I beat the shit out of him (or at least that's how I remember when I tell this story) and his friends all jumped in, then my friends jumped in and it was a mess. The cops came to the hospital and arrested me for inciting a riot. Not for fighting, but because we didn't stop the show when things started getting crazy. The club owner bailed us out, but he got in some trouble and a huge fine from the City of Costa Mesa. From then on he had bouncers at punk shows.
But, my wife tamed my demons and brought out the love.

I cant seem to get motivated today.
So much to do, yet I let it keep piling up.

Its pretty good, has some nice chunky songs in it. Im not normally a QofSA fan, but I am quite enjoying this album.

Why are all the good amphitheaters getting bought up by cell phone companies. Our Irvine Meadow here in So Cali is now Verizon wireless Amphitheater.

Yeah, I think the US Cellular Pavilion thing is a relatively recent development. Within the last year, maybe? I don't know. I was there last summer to see Sammy Hagar*, but all I remember is the first margarita.

*I feel like I need to qualify this by saying the ticket was free. But I'm pretty sure it was a good show, and I know it was a fun time.

I've never really been in trouble with the law first hand. Phil got roughed up by the cops once in front of me, and the cop said to me "what's a nice girl like you doing with a loser like him?" or something to that effect. Looking back, it sure sounds like he was picking up on me.

I've gotten a few speeding tickets and had to go to court for one.

Oh, there was that other ticket that I didn't go to court for and there was a warrant out on me... but I eventually paid the fine (which was like triple what it would have been if I had just paid it on time) and was never arrested. I got the ticket because I was going really fast on the I-5, driving up to Santa Cruz with Phil and our friend Kevin. I had to pee really bad and the rest stop was a few miles ahead. We were also listening to the Ramones really loud, so I didn't notice the cop behind me right away.

Today at work it was super crazy and a lot of shit hit the fan and the Reps were all against the Supervisors in this one meeting I had to go to. I'm not a Rep or a Supervisor, but a Specialist. I have an interview (which I just found out about by checking my email from home) for the Supervisor position. Will everyone hate me like they hate the other Supervisors? My guess is NO because I'm cool and they're not... anyway, I guess I'll be letting everyone here know how the interview went tomorrow. Wish me luck (if you want to!).

I'm all practiced up for this year's DSPC (Dr. Spectacular's Power Circus) sessions. Some of the drum parts won't be too bad, but I just know I'm going to have trouble on the instrumental. We'll probably be recording my tracks in the next few weeks - wish me luck!

Yes.
In fact, just a few weeks back, DSPC was playing the biggest show of our careers (that's right - the LIQUIDATION WORLD SHOW in the handicapped stall in their parking lot), and we rocked too hard - the cops came and broke up our fun. Rock 'n roll!
