Interesting idea - to adopt a style and voice as far removed from normal as possible.

Like...a techno track from Josh Woodward, a sensitive love ballad from Wreckdom, and a girl-and-guitar track from me.

Funny you should mention that..

*Jaw drops*

HOW ON EARTH DID WE GET THAT MANY VOTES?!?!?!

I am shocked right now. I mean... happy, but shocked.

Did someone put the song on a mailing list or something? I didn't tell anyone about this song.

ROCK!

I have discovered what happened with some investigating.

There was what could be classified as a "Friend flood" that I was completely unaware of. Actually, this was the first time that the bass player from our group has been involved in a songfight entry. He told one person, and that person told most of their online friends.

If there is a way to disqualify any votes that were unfair, I am not against that idea, or having our song disqualified from the fight.

I don't mind winning, but I do mind winning if a good number of the people who voted for us didn't even listen to the other entries. I feel that we probably did not have the best song this week. I just want it to be fair.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.

ROCK!

You are a dude. I speak only for me, but I'm sure if your bud sets the friends straight on the deal here, no harm done. Maybe they did check out some other tunes, so good on ya for bringing some more listeners in.

and for being honest.

Dude.

I think you should revel in it! You guys won the SongFight, and the unpublicized BassPlayerWithTheMostFriendsOneDegreeRemoved fight.

(Also: it is a catchy song!)

Thanks, Leaf.

I may be a dude, but as far as I am concerned, you are the MAN!

Where IS that studio version of "Little pig"

Jack and Deshead: Thank you for your postive responses also.

Thanks everyone who spent time giving feedback to our song (McCulloch/Carlier). Some of the criticism was quite useful. It was my first songfight, and I found writing and producing a song in one week (and having a job) both exciting and stressful.
Congrats to the winner
catch you later,
Carlo

ps: is the tally in percentages or something? I noticed it said Glenn had a 168 votes, but it only says 74 on the bar.

I appreciate your honesty Glenn, and that IS a lot of votes. So either you've got loads of fans or loads of friends or whatever.

Anyways, we normally don't tell anyone about our entries at all (I'm the other half of the Likely Lads), even though we only got 4 this week, at least we know they're from complete strangers who really dug our song the most, which is a really great feeling.

That said I'm sure you must have had loads of genuine votes in there too and I'm sure you'd have won anyways.

Cheers,

M

As 1/2 of the Halfracks (Quarter rack?) I denounce this false victory. I've really wanted to contribute to a Songfight winner and this feels....empty. I don't like it. I would really like to know where we would have placed though. Oh well, back to the drawing board...
