A long Wednesday ahead... I hate days when you know that they're going to be long and you're just starting them...

Ah well, at least I'm listening to some good music. It's a solo act guy + backup that I found randomly searching on purevolume.com - Acoustic Rock. Robbie Gold is the name. It's got a very modern folk acoustic rock feel to it... quite nice.

I actually burned a few of his songs to a CD over a year ago and haven't listened to it since. I love rediscovering songs I haven't heard in a while. It makes me want to pick up a guitar right now and start playing something.

QotD: Are there any bands that you haven't heard in a long while that, now that you're reading this question, you wanna just dig out their CD and listen to it again?

Workin'. Tonight I'm hosting the open mic at The Lucky Dog in Plymouth. C'mon up/down/over!

I was up at 3am and couldn't sleep. I ended up recording a cover of a Pink Floyd song. Here it is.

QotD: I'm just about ready to re-listen to some Les Claypool stuff. I'd been thinking about the Frog Brigade's concert where they did all of Pink Floyd's Animals. (That sounds dirty.)

That sounds good Jim. Kind of a peppy version. Toss in a fiddle and that could go country real easy.

QOTD: I just uploaded some Dramarama on my ipod the other day after Rabid's review.

Hey, nice. Interestingly upbeat. You could also add synths and take it in a different direction... or synthesized fiddle! Or... uh... nevermind.

This upbeat "and the worms ate into his brain" is a little weird :)

That Frog Brigade stuff is fun. I saw them in concert, very good, they did Sgt. Peppers (just the one song, not the whole album). I was inspired by somebody or other to get out my Cornelius album today. I'll play it later on.

John Brodeur. His debut album "Tiger Pop" is amazing. It's like Thom Yorke's American cousin performing Frankie Big Face songs, or something.

His new stuff is more mainstream-sounding, though "Sucker" (from Tiger Pop) is on his Myspace site. (Though you can also hear a 30-second sample of "Remains of a Heart," my favorite song of his.)

qotd: I can't think of any right now. Though, I just listened to TMBG's Apollo 18 for the first time in a long while the other day. It's not as great as some of the other albums, but "Fingertips" is brilliant.

Traffic in Mexico City hasn't changed and now I caught a cold :(

I could use a listen to Matching Moles' Little Red Book right about now. Will have to dig that out tomorrow.

With 20 million people or so, did you kid yourself into thinking it would get better?

Sorry about the cold man. I have had a cold while traveling before ( a couple of times ) and know what a pain in the butt it can be.

qotd: no. Once, I heard a Bauhaus song on an internet radio station and found myself buying three Bauhaus CD's that I once had while in my teens.

All this talk of the Frog Brigade make me want to break out some Primus albums.

I was also informed I should look into some band called Made In Mexico (who has that song Yes We Can on Guitar Hero 2).

Just make sure it's the earlier stuff - what's the album that has "The unsung swan song of Chet Baker?" great song! (no, K.D. Lang did not write it, folks)

Lets call in on the request line, lol. Give me some shiz to to ask for. I'll request Convalescence since they won here with that one. :P

edit: second thought, I better not request anything they aren't prepared for.

I'll ask if I can talk to Blue and ask him why he keeps emailing pictures of his penis to Little Billy. Image

I hate driving (and street parking) in San Francisco. I'm so glad I'll be moving into my apartment in a couple days, from which I can walk to work, and have a parking space.

Well, yes, god dam it! They've had over two months to clear things up and I just don't see the effort.

It's good to be home.
