Did we really only get 9 days for this? Like, just over a week? That feels like less time than usual.

True. I just checked the archives and the time for CoT has never been less than 14 days - the longest was about 5 weeks.

I think Jon mentioned recently on IRC that he may have miscalculated the due date. Expect an extension coming.

I mean cynically I was thinking maybe he's trying to get the obligatory extension out of the way sooner rather than later

Yeah, that was a huge brain-fart on my part. I was trying to give two fulls weeks plus an extra weekend. Instead I did the math wrong and gave you guys the shortest Circle of Titles deadline ever. Oops!

So previously I said the due date would be 11:59pm EDT on Sunday, July 19th. I'm pushing it back a week.

The new deadline is 11:59pm EDT on Sunday, July 26th.

Now get crackin'.

I was quite surprised at the short deadline. Maybe I'll tackle the other title now.

I am only slightly closer to being done now than when I was stressed about the deadline being last week.

This is fine.

Looks like I'll be busy with work stuff for the entire weekend, in preparation for next week's vacation. This is the only time I had available for writing and recording a song.
I think I'll be very late.

I'm going to be late. I'm sorry. I've been working on my regular songfight song all weekend and I don't think it would be optimal to subject my ears to wearing these headphones any longer today.

Well, I'm in. I'm not terribly happy with my song but given the state of the everything plus my ongoing health issues this was about all I could muster.

I sent mine in early - I had a Moment of awakening and a window of opportunity so I ran with it. I mean, I didn’t run very hard or fast or far, but I made something where previously there was naught, so at least give me that.

Sent a song via PM here on the board. I didn't see an email address.. granted I only looked for a couple of minutes.

Hey folks! The deadline is technically in 3.5 hours. Realistically, I'm not going to get these uploaded and shared out to the group tonight, so if you want to consider that a 1-2 day extension, then by all means. However, we're at a 50% turn in rate so far.

I hear you. I wrote my song in a fit of depression in the middle of my "vacation" last week when I was nowhere near the computer. Just finally sat down and got a demo recorded, but it's rough as all get out. I'll have to redo almost every part tomorrow.

Long ago, I think it was Circle of Titles II, I published a song that wasn't quite ready just to meet the deadline. The vocals were way too pitchy. I went back and corrected it, then uploaded the new version, which was better-reviewed by the people who heard both versions, but I think most of the listeners only heard the first version. All of this is to say, I could upload what I have (the old "fart into a microphone" strategy), but I'd prefer to wait until it's actually ready, even if that means it's late.

I’m running late, sorry—today wasn’t as productive as I needed it to be. We’re moving next week and I didn’t really realize how disruptive it would be to not have easy access to couch, guitar, or laptop. Along with trying to shove everything into not quite enough boxes.
