Okay I should go into more detail than that.
The frets aren't sensitive enough.
The picks are too sensitive.
The arpeggiator is useless.
It has all the dynamic range of a boiled turnip.
It's aimed at beginners who don't know how to use a keyboard, but it's not nearly as easy to use as a $50 MIDI keyboard.
The "bow" mode doesn't work at all.
It doesn't have any built-in audio generation of its own, and just appears as USB speakers to the computer. Which aren't worth using because the sound quality is crap.
Its configuration software is useless.
Nothing about it is worth any of the hype they give it. I tried really, really hard to make it useful for me even remotely. Once a year or so I'll dig it out of my closet, think, "Oh, I probably didn't give it enough of a chance," I try installing the latest version of everything (nothing changes), and then I put it away again.
There is nothing that the Artiphon does that isn't done vastly better by any random MIDI keyboard.
If you want an actual interesting next-generation input device, try the
Roli Seaboard. It's less expensive and does way more interesting things for that money.
