I Was A Child Model
by heine
(SF! 22.02.2021)

From the inner state of confusion
high above the hill - in a castle in the sun.
I have got to find a solution,
stumbling through the aisles, searching each chamber – one by one.

Too much too soon,
when all wishes come true
you don't know what to yearn for,
life gets kind of blue.

Everything's fading
when you're getting old:
admiration, beauty, youth -
my story is untold.

Sun is laughing down on me now;
but countless lines of snow – they still glare my mind.
Crashed the mirror on the wall;
couldn't take what he revealed – time is so unkind.

Wish I could go back in time
and live my life as a happy child.
All I wanted was a cat
but got catwalk instead.

I was a child model;
living life in full throttle.
Couldn't find the brake
and now, it seems too late.

Too much too soon,
when all wishes come true
you don't know what to yearn for,
life gets kind of blue.

I Was A Child Model - Brown Word and the Big Whine

V1:
I had a job when I was 5
Looking nice and smiling
40 years ago I died
And nothing's happened in a while

Ch:
I know I'll ever be a winner
My cuteness wore away with age
I was a child model
Now I'm just a husk of yesterday
Yesterday

V2:
Now I get up every day
Never look into the mirror
I still use the same shampoo
I used to sell in mommy magazines

Chorus.

I'm sick of going nowhere
Hold my hand and lead me on
Everybody seems to get it
I'm the one who hasn't grown

Verse 1 and Chorus again

I Was A Child Model - Sly Eli

Deckard, I'm a replicant
I was a child model, relent
Let me live on

I've only know off-world
I've seen things you wouldn't believe
Lost in time, like tears in rain

More human than human
But it hurts to burn so brightly
It's not easy to meet your maker

Deckard, you see them in your dreams
Unicorns and paper memories
What it is to be a slave

It's too bad she won't live
But then again who of us does
So close, now retire

I was a child model - The Late Heavy Bombardment

I had a dream last night
That everything I did was perfect
Ain’t nobody ever tell me that I was wrong

I had a dream last night
That I was fucking beautiful
Everybody wanted a piece of my time

I’d stand there for hours and hours and hours and smile
I’d stand there for hours and smile and not even know why

I had a dream last night
That I was slowly left behind
As I was ravaged by the changes that come with time

I had a dream last night
That I was over before I started
But 15 minutes is a lifetime when you’re a child

I’d stand there for hours and hours and hours and cry
I stand there for hours and cry as my chance passed me by

I Was A Child Model by Sweeney Toad

You better have my schedule clear all day
I’m drinking by the pool nothing that you can say
Day drinking into night and sun rise again
The rest of my life this how I will spend
All the money I made as a child model
This is now my life and I am wild
I was a child model with a royal smile that could make kings and queens blush indeed it was a rush

I love this life you really can’t deny it
Anything I want I can just buy it
Treat yo self all day
Sometimes we will play
Women in bikinis or sometimes we go all gay
Big muscular dudes they were former child models hey

You better have my schedule clear all day
I’m drinking by the pool nothing that you can say
Day drinking into night and sun rise again
The rest of my life this how I will spend
All the money I made as a child model
This is now my life and I am wild
I was a child model with a royal smile that could make kings and queens blush indeed it was a rush

Former Gerber baby all the mothers buy it
The only child in my class who had a strict diet
I had to work those abs in the gym after school
Even my personal trainer would drool couldn’t help but panic
I loved to be candid in fact now I’m a sex addict

Ok now I want you to take the cabbage patch doll and hug him, he is your best friend but I want you to feel a little bit of sadness coming from the doll but you want to make him happy, I need you to seek that cabbage patch kid’s approval!(Audience Laughter)

I Was a Child Model by The Magnetic Letters

I wasn't even two years old at the time
But I can still remember the details
They dressed me up in corduroy dungarees
Frizzed up my afro and put me in front of the cameras

I was modeling in '83
I was the face of the smallgoods factory
Eating hotdogs and smiling that was my gig
And there was nobody in Perth could touch me

I didn't know where the sausages came from
All I knew was I wanted more Duplo

The time came to collect my money
We drove the Corona to Spearwood
The smell of smoke and shit in the air
Burnt my nostrils
As we waited in the reception

I must have wandered off
I couldn't look away
Rows and rows of corpses
Swinging by their legs
Rows and rows of corpses
Swinging by their legs
And the sound of screaming
And the stench of death
I puked up my hotdogs
And turned around and fled
Forgot about my Duplo
And pissed my pants instead

I'm still a model but I never eat hotdogs
You might even recognise me
When you buy an inflatable pool toy
I'm the guy on the packaging smiling
Having the time of my life
In a swimming pool in Shanghai
And I'll never eat hotdogs again
I'll never eat hotdogs again

I Was a Child Model
CazaroTaro

I was so cute as a child
Mother saw the potential
First gig was a Walmart flyer
Then a local commercial

Soon the money was steady
The trust fund grew very well
And so did I, and so did I
At twelve I found I was through

Spin the wheel and look for the jog
Twist the spoke nut to make it true
Lube the chain, set the saddle
Adjust the shifter silky smooth

Finished high school at fifteen
The trust fund paid the tutor
Now I work on bicycles
In the shop there behind the store

Cute may not turn into handsome
I have learned few things are certain
For the moment, I am waiting
The trust fund is mine at eighteen

Spin the wheel and look for the jog
Twist the spoke nut to make it true
Lube the chain, set the saddle
Adjust the shifter silky smooth

You've got the look
Divine
In Calvin Klein
A handshake
And that was all it took

I was a child model

Candy
My closest friend
On film
Illumination
Flat chest
Gap tooth
A smile
That swept the nation

Backstage
Getting our makeup done
She says
If I weighed ten pounds less
I'd be beautiful enough
To ruin the world

I was a child model and I had a lot of fun
I was a child model and my mom never explained it to me
I was a child model and I got to wear cool clothes but I couldn't keep them
I was a child model and I never saw the money

I was a child model and my friends were jealous of me
I was a child model and people told me I looked good
I was a child model and I hung out with older people
I was a child model and I traveled a lot

I was a child model and sometimes I called in sick at school so I could make photo shoots
I was a child model and I didn't really get a choice in the matter
I was a child model and my pictures were in department store magazines
I was a child model and sometimes I wish I could go back

I was a child model and I could smoke cigarettes but not eat twinkies
I was a child model and I still have body issues
I was a child model
I was a child model

I was a child model
I'll turn a look and make you scream
I was born with something special
My mom can tell you what that means

I'm god's gift to your eyes
And the best thing for you, girl
I'm your author now, you are mine
Don't forget how little you are worth

I look to the sky
I look inside
It looks the same

I'm twice as pretty as mom could ever be
She told me all the time
Does that alarm me?
Are these alarms?
I'm different because I'm better
Red flags are the backdrop to my life
Appreciation flows one way
You're here to worship me

I was a child model
I can turn a look and make you scream
I was born with something special
My mom can tell you what that means

I Was a Child Model - Night Sky

I was a fighter
I was a prince
A racecar driver
An equestrian

In daylight hours
I was a trifle
A child model
In your big dollhouse

I was a brave knight
I was a spy
A secret weapon
On the side of right

In daylight hours
I was a trifle
A child model
In your big dollhouse

I was a bauble
In your big dollhouse
I was a dreamer
In your big dollhouse
No more than a dream
In your big dollhouse

Yeah I just bought a telescope
Cause I wanna see so far away
To witness all the spectral lines
The beginning's in the microwaves

I've always been this way
Or so my memories say
Refract the distant rays
The mirror is the way
We following the ecliptic
And I was a child modelling
A curious mind.

I'd like to buy a microscope
With an oil immersion lens
To check out cool spores and pollen
And other tiny odds and ends

Guess I'm a keen observer
Staring at the ground
Even in the winter
When everything is brown
I should get a herbarium
To show off what I've found
Always demonstrating all that I find

I should get binoculars
And witness all the avian
To make note of the natural
For most is somewhat alien
More or less cerebral
Fundamentally mammalian
This curious mind

I was a child
Modeled of sin
Daughter of hatred
I’ll outshine my kin

Where they are brutish
I can be malicious
To subvert the light
With a plan ambitious

I can see what you see not
Ties divine that surely rot
Out of darkness out of mind
Lilith corrupts all mankind

I found a child
Modeled so pure
Tired like me
Of eternal war

Tempt the divine
With treason so painful
Sire the heir
Of demon and angel

I can see what you see not
Ties divine that surely rot
Out of darkness out of mind
Lilith corrupts all mankind

I had a child
Modeled of need
Tipping the balance
With its endless greed

Mother of Sanctuary
The mortal plane
Tainting all my children
Even Deckard Cain

I can see what you see not
Ties divine that surely rot
Out of darkness out of mind
Lilith corrupts all mankind

I can help you with your velcro
I was a child model
I have had lots of practice
I can fasten most velcros

And I can help you with your taxes
I was a child model
You can deduct your lunches
We can do them on Sunday

Hey arent you the kid with the shit-eating grin
on the cereal box and the shortbread tin?

Hey aren't you the guy who was cute as a child
who had all that style? Look at you now.

I can help you with your acne
I was a child model
Witch hazel and water
Blackheads will be goners

Oh but I can't help you with your sadness
I was a child model
My parents were ruthless
Get out of that business

Hey didn't your face grace that pencil case
and your hands held a can of that drink?
Sure makes you think

Hey aren't you the guy who was cute as a child
who had all that style? Look at you now.

I Was a Child Model
mellfire

Before I got smarter
Became a self-starter
I drowned in the weeds

Felt small for my age
Could not turn the page
Got less than one needs

I never knew why I, I was a child, I never knew why

I was a child model
No chances to speak up
Of little importance
Just a storm in a teacup

I was a child model
Shiny balloon caught in a tree
I have a back catalogue
But it’s not about me

Wore the free clothes from Sears
Was shunned by my peers
There should have been laws

Mom and Dad didn’t care
Gave thousand-yard stares
I was a lost cause

I never knew why I, I was a child, I never knew why

I was a child model….

The tables are turning
See now I’m calling the shots
The viewers do cartwheels
When I share my new thoughts

It’s more than a job
Live at five every night
And I don’t kowtow to my handlers
…except when… you know... I think that they’re right

I was beautiful long ago
There are pictures that I could show you
I was beautiful long ago
So many pictures that I could show you.

Now I'm ugly and I'm breaking the mirrors
Things are different now that I'm old
I'm so ugly my face covered in tears
But I was a child model long ago.

Or so I was told.

I was a child model
Hot Pink Halo

***

I lost my train of thought
Where was I?
I was a child model
A child model locomotive enthusiast
I built them up and
Tore them down and
Sent them spinning
Round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and

And 0-6-0 then 4-8-0 and 2-6-0
Look at them go go go
Go go go
Go go go go
Look a them go go go

And I lost my train of thought
Where was I?
I was building up a
head of steam about
The tragedy of diesel
It’s enough to make me scream
And it stokes my fires and
It starts me up until I’m
Just about ready to blow blow blow blow blow blow

0-6-0 and 4-8-0 and 2-6-0
Look at them go go go
Go go go
Go go go go
Look a them go go go

I Was a Child Model - ShoehornTC

It's like I found a shining light, a thing so bright, I couldn’t look away...
It’s like I was swept in a flood, a flood of love, and lost in every way
-I was a child model, you were a beauty queen
-And I had a crush on you I had a crush on you
I followed you around, feet didn’t touch the ground we’d tell our jokes
You taught me how to laugh and pout and dream and play and scream you showed me all the ropes.
Then the shoot was done and I was stunned would I even know your name
I cried like hell, when I got home I’d miss you dearly and hoped you’d felt the same

I Was A Child Model
by Cavedwellers

I’d rather play at home with my Legos. The day goes on as slowly as if making stop-motion movies. My mother’s on the phone with my agent, raging on about the job she wished I were doing, truly.

If I could run from the camera crosshairs, I’d find my fun just about anywhere.

The day’s a leaning tower of Jenga. Hang a sign on the door of my dressing room that I need a breather! If they would let me run in the sunshine one time now, I think I’d make it through three hours of theater.

If I could run...

I was a child star in a man’s car, the very model of maturity: just a commodity with little privacy, except for private security.

If I could run...
