So Weird collab?

Post by wages »

I have a basic song idea for "So Weird". It will be guy'n'guitar unless anyone wants to do the music for it. It really needs electric guitar, but I can't spend the time to get good takes with my arms not up to par. If anyone is interested in doing the music, PM me and I'll send you a demo. I would say the tune is more in my "post-grunge" style. ;) EDIT: it is also NOT a ballad!

Wages - is this something Gawking Urethras could do? I'd be up for it...

If you send me a demo I can send you a demo back, and you can judge it accordingly. I love my multi-layered guitars, though (note: Not evident on Ten Lies, at the time of posting my only SF posted song).

How about ya'll take a listen and let me know what you think? I'll probably be working on the lyrics some, and if whoever I do this with wants to make a bridge part, I can write more lyrics to go with.

UPDATE: I updated the lyrics below. I made some adjustments and added a preliminary bridge, but I have no music for the bridge yet. Perhaps ye old collaborator will have a good idea?

Here is my demo:

----------------chords & lyrics-------------------
----------------------------------------------------
So Weird (capo 3rd, chords are relative to capo)

actual chords: Gm-G#-D#-Cm, Gm-G#-A# (Verse)
Cm-D#-A#-Gm, Cm-D#-A#-G# (chorus)

VERSE 1
Em F C Am
things used to be so much different
Em F G
it's so weird how things have changed
I used to be... "holier than thou"
but now I can't stand that way

there's something in my brain, that's mis-firing
different pistons in this engine
there's something in my brain, a switch on me
switching me off into a change

CHORUS
Am
it's so weird,
C
how things will change
G Em (2nd time do F)
in such a few short years
it's so weird,
we take it anyway
through the fears and tears

VERSE 2
I can't believe my eyes, what is this building?
it wasn't here just yesterday
and all the people, I used to be-friend
and even memories of past days

all this re-arranging, it drives me crazy
and i can't go home again
all this re-arranging, it makes me lazy
for fear of too much changin'

CHORUS

BRIDGE
no one is alone inside
logically I know
but sometimes we need comforting
dependance I suppose

and maybe it is good
and maybe it is not
and maybe you will stay
through all these changes,
cause we're all we've got
