Still deliberating, as it seems like I'm not too late to vote yet. I've cut my playlist to five, which I think are all better than good: BLT, Flvxxvm Florvm, Jose & Dolly, Paco and Roymond.

Is it too early to start whining about not getting a song? It's my first letdown in five years and I'm not sure what the protocol is.

No song for me either. I was late with my entry, though, so I've got to cut whoever it is some slack. And even if I don't get a cover, the whole thing prompted me to record a song, and try a couple new things. So thanks to Eddie and Niveous and all the participants. Yay song love!

I'm having a hard time deciding. Everyday I seem to be playing a different one over and over. This is the first one that I'm apart of, but I have listened to the previous years. I think this year is awesome. Everyone brought it with tons of heart.
Today, as I listened to Caravan Ray's kick ass cover, I couldn't help but think of images to go with it, then video. John, I think you should make a music vid with your cover. I've always loved that song and you gave it an updated new life. It's one of those songs that can and should carry on forever.

I have voted.

I also voted in the California Primary tonight - we have early voting at special polling places - I did not wait in line.

I also have not received a song but....

More bummed that I have not heard from my giftee, either.

Making Albatross' short list was a highlight of my day.

Wait.....is this roll call?

I finished my song in time, but didn't realize I needed to send it anywhere other than to the "giftee". Should I still bother sending it to anyone?

Eddie, give us a deadline for voting, please.

EDIT: Actually, I'm going to vote right now, but others may like a firmer date.

Sinus infections suck.

But it's gone now, so I should be able to finish this weekend, hopefully.

so when is it considered "fair game" to try to cover something for folks that got stiffed?

when does the "grift of music" list get posted?

who got stiffed? i'll scour your lists with the goal that nobody goes empty handed. hopefully, a few others will help me.

It's been 2 weeks. I say it's fair game.

May the second wave of gifting begin.

Yikes.

Step 1- Take tail and tuck safely between your legs
Step 2- Crawl home.

Reist, reread the first post in this thread or the GOM website page, both should clarify what the Gift Of Music is. But don't ask J$. You can't survive another burn like that. it hurt just to read that.

Heh, I forgot the smiley :)

Sign me up for helping out a stiffee (oo-er missus) - anyone wants me to cover one of the songs on the list, I am more than happy to tackle pretty much anything. Just let me know. otherwise I might randomly attack, and no-one wants that (cf.)

Don't let BLT or Caravan Ray hear you make an offer like that.
