nice pics hob's. I know where i want to go for my next vacation. Montana.

I'm so sorry ... for some reason ya'lls came out blurry! I do apologize!

Also, I tried the share thing at first but it was a pain in the butt and I got frustrated with all of the steps.

I did it again though, for those folks who don't have facebook or Myspace:

Well I added another 4.5 G of video.

I'm assuming we all like the high quality over the lower quality which goes faster and takes up less room.
I've found it hard to edit and retain high quality.
Case in point, the Berkeley Social Scene - WE keep Them Alive, is editted and I couldn't figure out how to export at the same level of quality. Damn Vegas software!!!!

Anyway there is much more Octothorpe and G& R, all of the live fight, more sheail, more Kasper now.

Still to come next weekend: More Naked Philosophy, Jon Eric, those straggling songs from everyone else.

Top 5 plays as of today:

Kasper-They Meet
G & R- Pencil Me In/ Georgia's Hand
Sheail- Hollywood Wax (Melvin)
Sheail- Say the Word (Pompeii)
Roymond- Lavender Slendor

Hoblit, I think I'm going to upload all 16minutes of your set as one file. (I kept it rolling and went away). Is that alright? Would you prefer edited up and separated? (lower quality)

Thanks for watching people! (feel free to comment)

I don't know about MTS (which I'd never heard of before), but Quicktime Pro (the Mac version, anyway, but probably the Windows version as well) supports basic nondestructive editing of MPEG-4. The UI is pretty wonky though.

Thanks for doing all this. I need to get around to watching Roymond's "Lavender Splendor" to see how terrible my ethereal kazooing was.

(I also need to get around to uploading my own set so people who weren't there can criticize me for being horribly off-pitch. Sigh.)

Hm, I can't hear my kazoo playing at all. Was that mic even on?

Oh well, one less way that I fucked things up that night.

MTS is the extension on these AVCHD files on Sony Hard Disk cameras anyway. As far as I can tell the camera is ahead of the software. I had to convert everything to MP4. (I set it up and let it convert, took about 16 hours for 5 hours of footage). So there was some loss there in that conversion. Then Sony Vegas is the only software I know of for PC that handles these HD files. I should check out Quicktime pro. Seems like the software would rapidly catch up yeah?

Anyway, I'm learning, and there's a lot to learn. Despite the pains in the ass I still love the Hard Disk camera far more than any tape or CD I've had.

Weird. I thought all Sony HD cameras just put out AVCHD MPEG-4. I know mine does but mine's also in the Webbie line (intended for posting crap to the web and not for serious recording or editing). In any case I can just edit my clips directly in QuickTime Pro.

1. THANK YOU, we do appreciate it!

2. Either way, no preference. Whatever is easiest for you. If I remember correctly, my set was ok / listenable so I imagine I can subject my family to one longer file! THANKS AGAIN!

Glennny - thanks for pulling all of these together! It looks like you're putting a lot of work into this, and we appreciate it.

One thing I'm learning from watching these - I need to slow my ass down.

I just watched that same video tonight, and noticed the same thing.

Not to be mean, but that was likely more fluffy's fault than yours. Drummer keeps the beat, after all. Plus, the studio version has a proper ending, and when we played it live, we just kind of stopped at the end.

Hoblit set is up. (one file). More songs will trickle in over the weekend. Maybe I'll get them all up? We'll see. I still have a few straggling songs from New York in May, and last summers Balance Lost and Carpetburn shows.

Thanks

OK Having trouble with 2 files. I'm not licked yet, but I have to try some things over with:
JB- The Blitz
G& R- OK Cupid

They look fine on the camera, for some reason the video is wacky when I transferred them.

So now that I have exacted my revenge on Jon Eric, I will now begin uploading his set.

Why the vengeance?

JE: JB you robbed in that Blitz fight!
GP: Ahem, Hey, I won that fight.
JE: I'm sorry but JB was ROBBED!
GP mental note : I will upload Jon Eric's set LAST!

JB made an AWESOME song for the Blitz,I Love it!, I understand if one prefers it, but "ROBBED"? that's insulting, especially since the Blitz is arguably the best song I've ever been a part of, and it has my personal favorite guitar solo I've ever submitted.

Anyway, now that vengeance is mine your videos will be up shortly Mr. Jon Eric

I admit I was curious as to why you appeared to break chronology for my case.

Didn't mean to offend. I happen to think that JB's "Blitz" was not only the best of that fight, but perhaps the best song he's ever done. Yours was certainly good, but had I been a judge, JB's would have been the clear winner on my list.

Alas, I was in one of my long absences during that period. So it goes.

Glennny, thanks for uploading all these. I'm sure it was a hassle, but for those of us who didn't bring our own video devices, it's a great joy to be able to access these and share them.

Clear winner?

All,

I'm trying to put together a live album/DVD of our (Kasper's) set. Does anyone have audio or video for Kasper's first song, "I'm not Impressed" ? I've been trying to extract video from Lunkhead's ustream video, but have so far been unsuccessful, and the audio is pretty bad :(

Lunkhead, I think you might be able to download the source video from ustream, any chance I could get a copy?

Thanks,
Mike Lamb
