Wow! I came here to add to the Gotham thread and didn't find one. :o

Gotham is one of my favorite comic dramas on tv right now. I never read comic books as a kid, so for me, I'm learning about the series. It may not fit the purists approval and I don't really care. When I want more detail on a character I just google it. But I try not to. I want to learn about these characters as they evolve to get the full effect.

Definitely a good show. I've been watching this and damn, it is getting dark. Not sure where the season will end or what it will set up for next season, but I'm in.

I've been uninterested so far... What's the point of Batman without Batman? I've liked the other recent DC TV shows so far, so I think I'm probably not being charitable enough to this oneā€”can someone explain the appeal?

I know, they've had to add the adult graphic content warning at the beginning.

Well, they introduced the joker and Enigma has gone to the dark side. So they are both set up for shenanigans. It looks like the penguin will have to disappear for a while after last night's episode. So one of them will come to town to run the underground now that Falcone wants to get out and help Gordon. Probably not Enigma. He'll live a double life for a long time.

I'm looking forward to seeing Bruce walk down the steps. What will he find? How much has his father already done? :)

I think that's the appeal to me. How and why did Batman become Batman? Most comic geeks know the basic reason, but not the details. So I like it for that reason. It's a series that can go a long way with a lot of villains that we get to see develop.
Also, we all know about Batman from the movies. It would be anticlimactic to do a much tamer tv series about the same thing.

In the comics, they may have gone into Bruce as a kid series. But for me, I only know of the Adam West Batman and the movies. The villains were just there. No back story, just a guy that leaves riddles and robs the bank, etc.

The new season is great. I just love this series. Not many talk about it for some reason.
