What is your favorite Jethro Tull song?

The experience that is Thick as a Brick is glorious. It seems unfair to pick Thick as a Brick.
The whole Aqualung album is flawless. However I think Minstrel in the Gallery is my favorite album.
Therefore:

Baker Street Muse is my pick.

Jethro Tull is one of my all time favorite bands! Back in the day the Cavedwellers used to cover Mother Goose. In fact we made a pretty damn good cover of it in 1998. I should dig that up.

Ian Anderson is on the shortlist for best frontman of any band.

Honorable mentions to : Teacher, Fat Man, Aqualung, Skating Away, and of course Thick as a Brick.

Sometimes the obvious way is the only way to go. Mine's "Aqualung." That whole album is genius, but the title track is the winner.

Locomotive Breath. I remember playing the crap out of the Agualung album in my 1976 Honda Civic on 8 track, lol. I had Jenson 6X9s in the doors and boxed 6X9s in the back with TWO Jenson 40 watt amps. That Civic blasted like no other back then.

Aqualung was the first album I ever heard from Jethro Tull, and one of the things that tickled me most about it was the two short songs Wond'ring Aloud and Slipstream, which are both on opposite sides of each other on the vinyl. I think Wond'ring Aloud is probably my favorite.

When I was a kid, I loved the album that violinist Eddie Jobson played on. I think it was just called "A". I haven't heard it in forever so I don't know if it holds up. (I doubt it.)

I'm still partial to their strange hit "Bungle in the Jungle."

I've never been a huge fan of Jethro Tull, but I've always admired how catchy "Living In The Past" sounds despite its 5/4 time signature. It's extremely difficult to make 5/4 sound truly natural. Jethro Tull's "Living In The Past" and Brubeck's "Take Five" are the only really successful examples that come to mind.

Mission Impossible original version. (U2 is so lame they made it in 4/4 for their version)

...but yeah, I usually mentally refer to Tull in my head when 1st dealing with 5/4

No-one's mentioned "too old to rock'n'roll"? Also yes, 'skating away ...'.

Damn it, my punk credentials are falling apart but pretty much every song mentioned in this thread is a winner ... though you do look at Anderson and see Chris Martin in ten years' time ...

My favorite song is probably "Cross-Eyed Mary", one of the most powerful hard rock songs ever. Even Iron Maiden covered it. (Good cover, but nowhere near the original, IMO)

But all of Aqualung is superb. I'd really love to hear the Cavedwellers cover of Mother Goose.
