Re: songfight covers / hxaro archive

What a coincidence, I found an incomplete cover of a Jon Eric Songfight song, from exactly 10 years ago (give or take a week.) Here are some of the Songfight Covers I did that aren't on the site already. Add them if appropriate: Bolio cover of Jon Eric's Brown Boxes (his name on that fight was 'Jon ...

Re: What we need more of is (Scientific 7 reviews)

I haven't reviewed in 8-9 years so I'm out of practice. Maybe I should have waited for a bigger fight.... :?: :?: :?: :!: Foobar – Transitions between parts aren’t smooth & the band starts to speed ahead of the drums (which are too quiet in the mix.) Is this the singer from Squirrel Damage? TRJo...

Re: Deep Cuts from the Song Fight! Archive

Be my guest. One could quibble... I sort of wish I had the original demo I sent you, but that was three computers ago, and I doubt it survived the move. I did the lyrics and chords, and the melody, which I believe you tweaked a bit... eh, whatever, it was a collaboration. Incidentally, for anyone wh...

Re: JingleSkirmish

Just ran across my finished(?!) jingle. Glad this thread is still here but where is everyone else's entry LOL???

For what it's worth, a jingle for Jimmy Dean's Pancake & Sausage on a Stick

Too bad I forgot about this in 2006, I think Jingle writing is my calling!!

Just found out Dan Fogelberg died. So I guess I'll be listening to all Fogelberg today, possibly longer. Tremendous influence on me, 'Leader of The Band' is one of the great songs of our time. RIP Dan.

YAY! Skirmishes always fit easy in my schedule.

It is LESS THAN THE DEFAULT WEEK we usually get for fights & has a 60 SECOND LENGTH LIMIT, sounds pretty 'skirmishy' to me!

Simple references aren't enough for me. I was looking forward to a Guitar-Crunching song a'la Breeders or Amps and I was disappointed.

Carol Cleveland Sings has by far the best song, very entertaining. But I believe Paco Del Stinko has the best Kim Deal interpretation & gets my vote.

Billy Preston

Very shocked when I just saw a headline that Billy Preston died. Met him 2 years ago at a Beatles Convention, didn't seem old at all & he was full of energy. He rocked out big time that night. Very stunned... His best known recordings are 'Will it Go Round in Circles' & 'Nothing From Nothing...
