Re: Happy to be Here
Just discovering this forum for the first time. Cool! Happy to Be Here Life is short The world’s a stage A rolling stone Gathers no clichés I don’t care that the script is bad The plot’s convoluted And the rhymes are sad I try to live my life without fear And I’m happy to be here... Life is short Do...

I've been so busy lately, I was honestly relieved to see the shorter list of entries. At least this time I won't get overwhelmed trying to write reviews! billyandthepsychotics Love the high-energy start. Totally overwhelming amount of guitar, constant activity all over the stereo field. A little too...

Re: Starting a Witch Hunt Review Thread
Appreciate all the comparisons to Ben Folds - I've never heard his music before (that I know of), but I'll take this as a compliment anyway. Would love suggestions of tracks to listen to get familiar with his style.

Thank you! Appreciate your other comments - I'm going to be especially mindful about not following the melody notes with the backing instruments next time.fluffy wrote:foobar: Yep, the new mix is WAY better. All the other criticisms I had of your song are still there though.

Re: Put your plans on hold and write some reviews
I re-listened. If this had been what I had reviewed, I never would have made the "sunk in the mix" comment. The vocals are nicely front and center, without being overpowering. They're actually quite well mixed in this version, and I have few complaints. I'm listening on an ancient altec-l...

Re: Put your plans on hold and write some reviews
Really impressive crop of songs this week. Most of them are so good I don’t think I have much to add, so I tried to focus on what I’d like to learn from each track. Ross Durand Excellent sad song. Like the vocals a lot, especially around the title phrase. Would definitely like to learn how to record...

Re: Orthogonal reviews
I'm completely new to SongFight, but came across this thread and am feeling inspired. Reading the in-depth commentary gave me a lot of ideas for my own songwriting/composing/mixing, so you're helping more people than just your, er, victim. Thanks for writing.

I got by for years with the FastTrack Pro, I think it's really nice for the price. I only recently replaced it with the new Avid Mbox Pro. I found the Harmony Central reviews especially helpful. here's one for the mbox: (Argh, the newbie spam filter wont' let me post real URLs, so you'll have to goo...

I'm so grateful for all of the comments so far. I'm completely new at this- this is my very first time sharing music with anyone else, let alone the whole internet. Thanks to everyone who's chimed in. I have a lot of things to work on for next time, especially around recording vocals, which clearly ...
