Re: Animation

I put little animation bits in my videos. I make my animations using outdated programs. I use a graphic program (PaintShopPro v.6 - which is about 7yrs old), I use stop motion technigues. I make an image and save. Then I make alterations to the frame and save each change as a seperate image. Then I ...

Re: 3 Qs: 80s percussion. G&G cleanup. phase flipping.

1) I think there was also a noise gate effect after the reverb to trim off some of the decay of the reverb so as not to muddy up the mix. Some reverbs have a control called damping which also lets you shorten up the reverb decay.

Re: Free Plug ins

I D/Ld the harmonica vst. I'm curious how it sounds, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. The GUI doesn't seem to have any controls, but when I went to my piano roll screen to program the notes I noticed I could draw in some of the controls. There is a control called soundfont oscillator. When...

Re: Free Plug ins

http://www.dskmusic.com/blog/?page_id=3 These look really good. Has anyone tried any of them? Ken I like a lot of the stuff at DSK. Whoever the programmer is seems to crank out a few new ones every year. I usually check them out and keep the ones I like. I have a couple of the drum machines, there ...

Re: Free Piano VSTs

Here are a couple of sites with free piano plugins. http://smatni.tripod.com/safwanmatnivstplugins/ http://rekkerd.org/dsk-vsti/ The pianos at the Safwa Matni site do not have any controls to adjust their parameters, but I got around that by setting my vsti host programs randomization control to ran...

I don't know how this thread went from videos to politics and regional dialects, but here is a video I made a couple of months ago. The link goes to myspace instead of youtube because youtube makes mars look like a disco ball. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=...

She used it a little bit but lost interest as she got older. She is 12 right now and more interested in hanging out at the mall with her friends. I get it out every once in awhile and mess with it. Here are some pictures I took of a penny today http://www.undesirablemusic.com/images/microscope/penny...

You might try using a free vsti soundfont player. There are some fairly decent free guitar soundfont packs on the web. I play guitar and have never used this technique on a song, but I have experimented around with them and have got some convincing guitar sounds from them.

Yeah, thanks for the samples. They're well recorded. Good job. Thanks signboy, I recorded them with a Behringer B-1 condenser mic. I recorded each drum several times and tried to pick the best sample of each. I didn't end the sample until I was sure the sound was done decaying. I also wanted to kee...

Samples

Last January I recorded samples of my collection of percussion instruments. Tonight I finally got around to putting them up on my website. The samples are free and there are no restrictions on their use. There are also pictures. If anyone is interested here is the link http://www.undesirablemusic.co...

I came across this competition they had at KvR for software developers. I downloaded a few of them, but haven't tried them yet. I read some of their board reviews on the stuff and they did mention some of it was cpu intensive, but I figure it's worth trying. You have to register there to download. Y...
