Re: Nur Ein XVI: Final Round "Blue"

Wooo! Thank you! Well fought, Max Bombast, I was very nervous anout how this would go after hearing your song. But I’m honored to join the ranks of multi-year Nur Ein winners along with you (though maybe it doesn’t quite count since last time was with Vom!? But 1.5 time winner ain’t bad, I’ll take i...

Re: Blue Lang Hxaro

I don't want to be a nag, but as the Jerks have noted before: having no deadline is a great way to doom a Sidelight/Coverfight. Regardless, to get us started here's a repost of Hanky Code's cover of Frannie by sonofsupercar. I have an additional cover in mind, but I'm not 100% sure it's going to ha...

. Grumpy Mike -…. Challengewise: You said, "The transition back to C involves Adim -> D7 -> C. Which is downward. I hope you didn’t mean to specify something else that isn’t a technical definition of modulation!" Congratz. Your transition is downward. I just quoted the definition from the music dic...

Re: My Life

I just bought an e-bike too and I looooove it, maybe not 500 miles in a few weeks but I’ve ridden it a ton. it’s made me want to go biking way more because it’s just fun to ride and takes the annoyance out of hills or long distances.

Re: Nur Ein XVI: Round Four "Waiting For The Sun To Fall"

Thanks for the reviews, guys! I probably will continue having no time to review this week, but I just wanted to say this is a super strong round and I don’t envy the judges having to rank everything. I think my initial favorites are Ever Kenievel (despite the loose take on the challenge) and The Low...

Do you have a separate output knob on your interface @arby? It should let you adjust the volume you’re monitoring at separate from the volume you’re recording at.

Thanks for the kind words on my shadow, those of you who commented about it! I’m in with a sweet, romantic tale of two ships passing in the night. One ship only speaks English and the other ship only speaks Mandarin. Thanks, Mo, for taking my vague brief and turning it into an excellent and hilarious vocal!

Can both people sing/speak partly in the same language as long as there’s also at least one other language in the song?

I know at least some of the current judges don’t want to read liner notes. Can I assume the judges will at least read the translations of lyrics?

This song continues the narrative and themes of denial, avoidance, loss, and grief from "Semiprecious" (including echoing the "yellow O's" phrase) and anticipates the themes of fear, death, and mental illness from "Pareidolia" while touching on the meta-theme of institutionalization shared between ...

Crown Shy - Like all the songs I've heard so far, the impression i'm getting is the use of field recording has nothing to do with the song that follows it. That's by the by - this is undeniably pretty. Really lovely and I do like the way the FR turns up through the song (even though it doesn't add ...
