Re: I'm Covered In It Now
I'm Covered In It Now Robyn Mackenzie You got the devil in your eyes You hold my head underwater And I would be your sacrifice Like I'm not somebody's daughter I know you're bad for me That much is true So why can't I turn away from the monster that is you, you, you, you Give me your poison And turn...

I'm in. No whistling, I'm afraid. Also the first song I've written in awhile that has nothing to do with politics or coronavirus! Yay!

Re: Silence blaring for (A 9/11 Every Day reviews)
Sly Eli - I really like the percussion and the laid-back strumming. The lyrics are really well done, and I like the direction the bridge takes the song in. Nice. Vom Vorton - This belongs in an indie film about a nerd who works in IT who falls in love with a manic pixie dream girl who's a florist. O...

A 9/11 Every Day
A 9/11 Every Day Robyn Mackenzie Woke up to the headlines In the winter morning sun I tried to remember The dream that I had just begun It's a brand new year again The last one was just pretend So I'll just lay here in bed instead, I guess Took a look in the mirror Staring at a brand new face Took a...

I've been away working on my novel. I had an idea for "I Can't Turn It Off" but never finished it.

Re: Aarararrrargh! (Screaming Into the Void reviews)
Robyn Mackenzie—I’m not completely sold on the “want it, want it” and “got it, got it”, but the rest of this is awesome. Grungy but still melodic. The variability in your vocal cadence keeps thing interesting, too. Good work. Were you any in any previous bands in New Mexico? Tbh I'm not sure I was ...

Re: Screaming Into The Void
Screaming Into the Void - Robyn Mackenzie Screaming into the void Call it revolution, call it noise Not like we got a choice You brought us down, down, down Screaming into the dark Your only purpose is to tear apart Everything that has a heart You tore us to the ground But it's never enough, you rou...

Re: Aren't we all just (Screaming Into The Void prefight)
I didn't get called in for extra hours but I did finally have an idea at 11 o' clock last night when my wife was sleeping, so vocals had to wait until after work today. Fingers crossed that it gets accepted even if it is quite a few hours late.

Re: And now you see (How It Comes Apart reviews)
Balls to Monte - This is killer. I enjoy the imagery in the lyrics and the harmonies on "fine art" are brilliant. I really dig your sound. Future Boy - Loving the juxtaposition of the cheery synths and beat with the dark lyrics. I like the simple melody--your vocals are top notch. I also really like...

Re: How It Comes Apart
A whisper in the winter air The sins of man are all laid bare You say you're not afraid to die Someone else, a sacrifice Don't pretend it's over When fear and greediness are lovers You see the symptoms and the signs They say don't read between the lines And I guess it's all a sham anyway We blindly ...

Re: Don't wink at me (Eyes In The Dark reviews)
Lichen Throat - This reminds me of a song I used to listen to in college a lot. I can't remember what it was, but I liked the sound of it, and I like the sound of this too. Really good imagery in the lyrics. Hot Pink Halo - Love those slideys in the violin! The dissonance works really well for the s...

Re: Your music creation history
90's-2001: I was a kid. Started playing violin and piano and wrote a lot of silly songs and parodies. 2002: Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" came out and I got hooked on the riff and played it over and over. I decided I wanted to write pop songs and wrote one about my boyfriend who I thought was...
