Re: Pictures from when (I Was A Child Model reviews)

Thanks for the reviews! Night Sky - I already made some comments, but you should seriously make more music like this and add saxophone to it. The timbre of your voice works well in this setting and the only thing this is missing is more of that saxophone. I think I recommended in my “listened to the...

Go Between - Night Sky You walk in and say The goat ran away That goat’s a bastard is my only answer It’s the kid downtown threw his toy goat to the ground Had himself a full meltdown Blamed the goat for what went down Only you and me Can understand the things that go between You and me Our well of...

Night Sky is foolhardily in. Anyone know if confirmation emails should come automatically or if they involve human intervention? I signed up a few hours ago and remain unconfirmed.

Re: Can't post to review thread

Eventually succeeded with posting reviews. May have been a browser issue or a text encoding issue (I was copy-pasting from Mac Notes which I have done almost every other time I have ever posted reviews). Anyway, problem solved for now.

Re: You can only avoid (Potential Consequences reviews)

I completed my reviews for the first time in weeks, but either I'm hitting a word limit or something else wacky is going on... if this post goes through I'll try posting in more bite-sized pieces. Edit: I seem to be fighting with text encoding or something, grr. Happy to hear so many wind instrument...

Can't post to review thread

I'm getting an internal server error when I try to post to the current review thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12040. The error tells me to write to webmaster@songfight.net, but emails to that address bounce.

I Was a Child Model - Night Sky I was a fighter I was a prince A racecar driver An equestrian In daylight hours I was a trifle A child model In your big dollhouse I was a brave knight I was a spy A secret weapon On the side of right In daylight hours I was a trifle A child model In your big dollhou...

Re: Google it (I Was A Child Model prefight)

We've got lyrics, objects that loosely resemble riffs, DIY effects pedals, and reverb. Am I going to fit a saxophone in it somehow? Yes, yes I am.

How is everyone's shoegaze coming? I kind of landed in "Swervedriver gone Krautrock" but I'm curious about everyone else.
Currently taking a break from soldering my pedal.

Re: You face (Potential Consequences prefight)

In with a 2x4 lap steel bass, five bari parts, vocals, and drums. I feel like I at least captured the instrumentation of Morphine, if not the actual sound. Had a lot of fun with this.

Taking another run at Morphine. Built something like this Saturday. Three bari tracks so far.

Re: From Grey to Gandalf (The White Morph reviews)

Night Sky I really like the internal rhyming here! I think the sax counts as being made of heavy metals, so that's a technical check in the bonus challenge. As much as I love metal, having the last few songs be non-metal has been refreshing, and makes me more excited for the next ones coming up. I ...

Re: From Grey to Gandalf (The White Morph reviews)

Night Sky : I am always thrilled to hear that sax. I know I say it every time and I probably won’t stop. I love the vibe and sound. This feels taste-based, but I I want a little more reverb on the sax and vox. And to maybe drop them by just the smallest notch in the mix. Cool song as always, man. I...

Re: Rare and unusual (The White Morph prefight)

Night Sky is in. The attempt at a Morphine sound was a complete bust. Ended up more 50s rock with saxes. Tried to make it a bari feature, but ended up having to pull out the tenor to get it done. Definitely not metal.

Re: Rare and unusual (The White Morph prefight)

The bari is the heaviest hunk of metal I have, so I'm gonna try to do something Morphine-inspired. No promises, but should be fun to try.

Re: Morphine (the band)

I'm bummed that I didn't know them when they were around. I was even in college in the northeast in the late 90s and had family in Boston. Dana Colley is an absolute animal, that bari tone is ridiculous.

Re: Come on, Pa! Tell me about those (Better Days Reviews)

night sky: Love the "Arrested Development theme song" guitar line. And OMG the horns!! The vocals sometimes sound like they are dragging, almost as if you want the song to be faster. I think if you bumped the tempo up 25% this would take on really sweet, almost ska-adjacent vibes. Also: M...
