I only have three songfight submissions, so I guess I just barely qualify:
How It Comes Apart
Another Mystery Solved
A 9/11 Every Day
Thanks!

Re: Not front page news (A 9/11 Every Day prefight)
I got a song in. It's my least favorite I've done so far, but I did all the arranging and layering and stuff myself, so I guess that feels good. SunLite normally does all that for me. He still mixed and mastered and cleaned up a few bits.

Re: Hello World
Glad to see you! I don’t know much about production, either, so I mostly do lo-fi stuff, but I’m trying to go out on a limb in the next fight by adding more elements. We will see how it goes. Looking forward to submissions from both BB and FireBear.

Re: Scooby Snacks for (Another Mystery Solved reviews)
Giraffes for Wings : This is a fun arrangement. I mean, guitar, stomps and vocal isn't the most adventurous arrangement. But for songfight I could see you getting a bit of look down the nose (although that maybe was more prevalent a few years back.) I liked it though. Unfortunately, I have no produ...

Re: Scooby Snacks for (Another Mystery Solved reviews)
For most artists, I am just pointing out my personal highlight from your song. If you’re new, and I didn’t say welcome, I’m sorry. I’m fairly new myself, and I just barely know who the regulars are at this point. Welcome! add – Soothing backing synths, vocal melody in the verses. Brother Baker – Tha...

Re: The Hellos
I checked out the tribute album; I liked your contributions a lot. They weren’t MF songs that I particularly remembered, which makes me think I should revisit his catalog to see what else I’ve passed over.

Re: The Hellos
That is accurate. Big Magnetic Fields fan, at least up to "I" - the albums after that are weirdly missing... something, for me. But anyway, welcome! I haven't really been listening or taking part lately but looking forward to hearing your contributions when I can pull myself out of this rut! Thanks...

The Hellos
I entered my first SF about a month ago, but I only just discovered this thread. I guess I will put a basic intro here if anyone is interested. I find a lot of joy in writing my little songs. Mostly I just crank out chuggy or bouncy acoustic guitar stuff, but sometimes I write on ukulele, and more r...

Re: How did you find out about Song Fight?
I listened to Jonathan Mann’s podcast “As It Happens”, which chronicles his songwriting process. For one of the episodes, he composed a SF entry. By the by, Mann has written a song every day since 2009, so I recommend him as someone to follow for inspiration.

Re: Case closed! (Another Mystery Solved prefight)
I’m in with a song that reflects my roots: writing third-rate boombox-era Mountain Goats songs. It’s just me, a guitar, and a desk. Credit to my students for the subject matter.

Re: Aarararrrargh! (Screaming Into the Void reviews)
Tomdg – How do you say Tomdg? The long chains of lyrics are pretty interesting. The lyrics themselves could do, I think, with more specificity. Almost every noun in there is abstract: dream, news, soul, nightmare, fears, terror, heart, pain, disbelief, hate, prejudice, lust, power, curse, state, po...

Re: Aarararrrargh! (Screaming Into the Void reviews)
Apologies to all for any wildly inaccurate comparisons I make here. add – First of all, I love this song. I played it Thursday as the intro music for all of my classes. I mean, the guitar coming in and out. The bass line. When the synth pops in and out during the verse. The jazzy drums and that circ...

Re: And now you see (How It Comes Apart reviews)
Giraffes For Wings - This is kind of cute on a budget. I really like the constantly evolving arrangement. You won me over at handclaps and I'm totally sold when the synth arpeggio comes in. My favourite for this fight. I don't totally know what "cute on a budget" means, but it's my new favorite phr...

Re: And now you see (How It Comes Apart reviews)
Giraffes for Wings : Is there a vinyl simulator periodically popping up in this? Or am I hearing things? Typically I’m not one for obviously programming/generated drums but the tom rhythm that drives this is groovy and I enjoy it. Not sure how much I like the kind of twee beep boop synth, and the b...
