3000 Song-A-Day Songs!

This is sort of an event, I guess? Jonathan Mann just did his 3000th Song-A-Day song. I don't know if he's doing a concert or album or anything to commemorate this milestone. He did say he made Spotify playlist of some of his 3000 songs for the occasion though if you want to check it out: https://op...

Re: JoCo Cruise 2017: March 4-11, 2017 How To Be In A Songwriting Contest

That's awesome! I somehow missed your original post in this thread, otherwise I would have replied. :( I looked at the Cruise and thought it sounded like a lot of fun, but we couldn't make it work into our schedule and budget. We're saving up time and money for our honeymoon. I'm curious who the Nur...

Song Fight Live 2017 in ... ???

Things are slow around here, and I noticed that we hadn't gotten the ball rolling on the discussion of where to host SF Live this year. Last year was in New York, so, West Coast this year? If it's in June or July, we may not be around to host or attend, but we could probably do host or attend in Aug...

Very sad, but he lived a long full life at least, and left behind a huge legacy. RIP. :(

Re: Grimm

Years later, we're still watching. Two episodes left. The Zerstörer is coming, presumably for Diana. Or for Juliet/Eve??? No sign of Juliet/Eve in the preview for next week, so ... maybe that's not a good sign for her. Will our heroes stave off the end of the world? Probably. Will some people other ...

Re: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - worth a visit?

And if you're in Cleveland, the art museum is also nice. There's a lot of nice stuff near the art museum in the "University Circle" area. The symphony used to be very highly regarded but that might be difficult to work into a visit. The Great Lakes Science Center, down on the lake front in...

Re: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - worth a visit?

I've been there a few times. I started college in Cleveland the same year the hall opened. I haven't been to Cleveland or the hall though in 10+ years at this point. But I would say it's absolutely worth doing once. I think the last time I went was in 2000, they were having a special exhibit about J...

Re: Pandora Premium

It's ad free, like Pandora Plus, but your extra $5/month gets you "on-demand" meaning you can search for and play any specific album/song in our catalog any time you want. You can also create playlists of specific songs. You are no longer limited to just "stations" which pick the...

We've been loving this show. It's just a small scale ensemble comedy, but the characters and the acting are generally pretty great and charming and it's got heart and some pretty funny jokes. Looks like it got picked up for a third season, too.

Powerless

I was hoping this show would be good but it's just OK. The best thing about it by far is the opening credits sequence, which I think is pretty brilliant. Sadly the actual show doesn't do as much justice to the premise as the opening credits sequence. Everybody's a little too kooky and offbeat, and t...

Brownout presents Brown Sabbath

I heard a track off this album on the radio and I freaking love it. It's a band from Austin doing heavy covers of Black Sabbath with a horn section and a bunch of percussion (at least congas and bongos). They remind me of the Budos Band, but they're not as Afrobeat sounding, but similar. I thought f...
