I think the solution to that is, write for yourself. Either way you'll have some new songs. And either way, you'll probably lose.

Just make a song. Worst case scenario is it gets posted late and you still have a new song.

I'm putting out the call for more songs again. Much gratitude to the few folks who sent songs in on time or close to it. But we're just barely above the minimum number of songs for which votes are required to vote, so I would love to see if we can juice the number of songs up a few notches.

I did also put a gate on that track when I mixed, even though it seemed like it had had a gate put on it before it was sent to me. There was still some noise to remove. Maybe though the compression or other mixing I did on it then wound up inadvertently emphasizing whatever was still left even after...
