It sounds like a melvin could be hard on the ole' oats . . .
Zipline: I’ve loved some of your entries, and I really dig the live band sound of this. The vocals are rough in spots, but I like their intensity. Solo around 2:40 is wicked! Is that Glenny? If so, you continue to be awesome. The other highlight is the riff kicking in at 3:21. That’s really hot. Ov...

Very few reviews this time out . . .
It seems like the one-week posting delay sort of took the shine off of the Maki songfight . . .

Zipline Returns . . .
zipline wanky zappa like guitar intro really builds in nicely with the drums, which are kick ass man! who is playing drums here? vocals are good in an ozzy like way, and the guitar and bass really back the awesome drums on this track. this is very nicely done, especially the tightness of the band b...

500 eh . . .
In the time it's taken for Maki to post, I think I've composed about 500 songs, so I'm up for the optional "500 Song Fight!"

Yes, first entry since Anomaly
well, i spent three nights last week just on the drums, all weekend on the other basic tracks, and all night tonight on all the vocals and accent instruments, and then the song file in the roland all of a sudden became corrupted. there is no way i can re-record this. it was more ambitious than anyt...

I didn't know people read these after the fight was over ;-)
First, a huge thanks to al of you who voted for us! We really appreciate it. However, it really was fun doing the live shows and saying before every tone "Ok, we're going to do another song for you that didn't win . . ." Actually, the best part was when Glennny called me with the n...

Another full review . . .
DDD - Nice experimental electronica, but left we wanting more composition. Keep going for it. Embers - Where did Extreme go anyway? Well performed tune with nice duet creation, but the rhythms weren't as original s I think you're capable of playing. Flvxxvm/Jolly - It's the lost track from the Metal...

How long?
Hey Prisoner, The new cut is down to 5:30, I actually lobbied to cut my solo completely but Martyr kept a short one. ....if you'd have told me Bill Bruffurd was jamming with the Ziplines....... BTW Ken is known for many things Producing, Song Writing, Drumming, but I must give him his proper respec...

Just finished listening to Zipline's Anamoly . . .
If you are a fan of Yes' Starship Trooper, then you'll like our cut. Every week we get together, sometimes with musical ideas, sometimes not, and play for about two hours and hope for the best. Sometimes there's plenty of time for splicing, sometimes there isn't, but all of our tracks to date have p...

Just a prelude - Zipline is back with polyrhythm hell . . .
You know, the 11/8 just wouldn't be so damn hard if the guitar wasn't accenting the 2nd, 5th, 8th and 10th notes of the arpeggio! Damn, you'll just have to wait and see how this 2-hour songwriting fest ended up . . .

Evil April Quick Reviews
Sorry all, but I'm still working right now, so I'll listen to all the tracks and give you some very brief impressions: dB Collective: Fun, well-produced track. I liked it. Biharmonic Plus: Vocal were a bit spacier than I would have liked, and I wasn't too fond of the hackneyed drum programming, but ...

Reflections on the California Tour . . .
All, I want to start by saying how impressed I was with everyone. You are a collective powerhouse of creativity, personality, musicianship, originality and basically damn nice people! After not having gigged steadily in about 7 years, I am now addicted! I forgot just how much fun it was to play for ...

Looking forward to seeing you all in LA and in my native Bay
All, This is going to be so much fun. After playing regularly in college and then for about 7 years afterward (through 1998), I actually only sat behind the kit once or twice per YEAR through 2005, and then in 2006 I somehow ended up in a little band we call Zipline. It's sure nice to be playing aga...

What, you mean we actually have to practice these charts?!?
Hi all, Yes, Zipline will be in full effect for the Bay Area, and I would love to zip down or up the coast for other shows, but I don't really have a full mobile band to play with. Like Glenny said, guitar and drums for hire, but with so many great musicians in those cities, you should all do just f...

Did Somebody Say V-Drums!!!!!!
Ok, as Glenny said, I was playing a completely electronic drum set for Zipleif. Yes, I played electronic drums on a tune for the first time, and it was a strange experience. Rubber cymbals, what do I do with those things? At least the drum pads were ultra-sensitive, which also presented some problem...

A FEW NOTES ABOUT ZIPLIEF (should actually be Zipleif!)
Ziplief: There's something comforting about the way this opened, and I liked the vocals. With tighter timing and keeping the lead guitar more in key (was great until 0:18, then goes wonky periodically), this would go into my music collection. A new configuration this week - this is Glenny on lead g...

Furrypedro Wrote: [/b]Zipline:[/b] Just checking, that is glenny singing right? It's good, only problem is recording quality, sounds like you recorded it all live, perhaps if you did the vox alone afterwards and spent some time on them they'd be spot on. maybe you did do it that way in which case I'...

Ahhh, an Alesis. They always had great sounds for the price, but just not that much in the way of variety in the earlier models, if I can recall back to high school! Keep up the solid entries though!

For a fight some people thought horrible, whether it was or not, it provided some excellent reviews and interesting conversations. Captain Corn calls it fun! Better Late Than Never: My full reviews
Billy’s – It’s difficult to get past the mechanical, uninspiring drums. Please try another patch, or get a new machine, and get some help with the programming. Other than that, it was a really good song, and Paco’s quite simply the shit. I thought the vocals were good but hard to make out at times. ...

Glenny And Frisbee were Robbed!
Billy's song was decent, just like my review stated, but the Glenny/Frisbee project was the clear winner on the boards, and the obvious winner amongst those who listened to the entire Wedding Song Library of entries. No hard feelings Billy, and no need to reply, just an observation of the events tha...

Hey Frisbee, you mentioned the familiarity of something in
the Glenn Case song - For me it was "Here Comes the Sun," but only a vague resemblance. If it means anything, I really like that tune, and you already know I think the Case tune was also solid! Ok, after much deliberation I think I have it down to my two favorites. First, I don't know unde...
