Prejudice vs. Racism

Prejudice and racism....... not the same thing, kids. I tend to have a prejudice towards rap music myself - it's just not my favorite genre. With that said though, I seriously doubt that makes me a racist.

Late

Ham No Burger – Rockin’! Vocal effects completely work in this song. The hot side’s hot and the cool side’s cool. I can believe that this track took quite a while to record and mix. There is a lot going on here. The mix is great. I’m not straining to hear anything or wishing anything was lower. Thi...

Reviews

I'd just like to say that I'm thrilled several of these reviews have "gotten" that my tune is supposed to emulate late-80s/early-90s cookie-cutter dance-pop (Black Box, C&C Music Factory). I channeled my inner-Marky-Mark, set my guitar down, and tried something fun. What scares me thou...

Random Words In Subject Field

Nope, I'm pretty sure I posted those reviews in the right spot. I just happened to do some simple detective work to find the Sugar Shaker tunes, that's all.

Sugar Shaker Reviews

Adam Adam Ant - Maybe I just don't "get" this. The first section of this song sounds like a 2-year-old banging on a keyboard. It's not my thing. Big Dumb Jerks - I like the idea. I like the beat. I think another instrument (or two) could have been added though, without compromising the ove...

The Lost Sugar Shakers

I obviously realize that these guys have lives. I've always understood that. I get it. As far as wanting to have my song heard - sure, of course I do. But I'm equally wanting to hear everyone elses songs as well. These guys make it all happen through all the hard work they put into running and maint...

How Dare I...

How dare I complain in the "Complaints" forum?! So seriously (and this is directed at you SF! veterans), what's the average turn-around time for songs to be posted then?

The Lost Sugar Shakers

"The Sugar Shaker" is my 4th fight - so I'm relatively new around these parts. For my previous 3 fights, the songs were posted within 2-3 days of the "due date". Maybe I've been lucky they've been posted so fast, and maybe I've already come to expect (*ducks*) these songs to be p...

I channeled my inner-Marky-Mark and officially submitted my version of "The Sugar Shaker". (I'm so ashamed.)

Voting

I'm still a newbie here on SongFight! (3 weeks or so) - But I learned very quickly that the votes here don't mean shit to me. Sure, I guess it's nice to see that someone voted for one of my tunes, but I found that I enjoy the critiques MUCH more than the actual voting. Of course it's great when some...

Posted Tunes

RG, I'm pretty new to this scene as well.... but from what I've seen, the tunes usually get posted 1-3 days after the deadline. But I've only been around these parts for 3 weeks now, so what do I know?

Paris Reviews

Ben Foxworthy - Catchy tune. I can see this one getting stuck in my head. I'm not entirely sold on the lyrics though. It's a little TOO much Paris in one song. Also, I'd like this one a bit more with a fuller production. Good effort though - especially with the catchiness of it. (Is "catchiness...

Hell Yeah!

Seems there was no stopping The Hell Yeahs this week. Great song that definitely deserved the win! Will there be a Hell Yeahs entry for "Paris"?

I see Paris, I see France....

I'm in for this week's fight. I decided to do a 180 from last week and check my 90's grunge at the front door. It was an interesting experiment (although, I'm trying to cope with only having one guitar track on this tune). Can't wait to hear everyone else's creations....

Reviews

Biharmonic Plus - Could use some work on the drum programming. Vocal pitch is all over the place, but I like the chorus melody. Jolly Roger - Where's the bass? I dig the prog rock thing, but I couldn't make it all the way through this one. Tam Lin Music - I've probably listened to this a good dozen...

The CTP Project

I have a sudden urge to drop "Ham No Burger" in favor of "The Chris Tucker's Penis Project". (but I won't)

Monte Carlo

Not to knock Monte Carlo's entry, but..... well..... I was surprised to see that tune win the fight. I'm new to the scene here - do friend-floods happen often around these parts? I honestly don't want any of my friends to come here and blindly vote for my entries. Hell, I don't plan on voting for my...

Where My Song Be At?!

Actually, that's a really good question. The "Evil April" songs aren't posted on the SF! homepage yet (unless my browser cache is retarded). Signboy, how were you able to find my version of "Evil April"? Concerning my SR-16 (lack of) skills on "Evil April", there isn't ...

Alesis SR-16

Thanks for listening to the tune, Signboy. The "drums" are done with an old (relatively speaking) Alesis SR-16. I have rhythmically-challenged legs/feet - so playing on a real kit is always a disaster for the kick and high-hat. I don't even know if Alesis still makes a product like the SR-...
