Re: Song Fight! Live 2024

I would make every effort to make it Denver.

Also, I would love to host here in Seattle again some time in the next few years, having made connections with numerous venues since I joined The Jaydogs.

Re: Song Fight! Live IRL 2023

I am close enough to Bend to be very interested. I would be interested in setting the date as soon as possible so that I could start planning out and putting the technology in place to do a live fight in which entrants both present and remote could participate.

Re: SF Live! Online Edition 2022

I have been waiting for a date to see if I would offer to host the live fight, and October 8 is not a good date for me. I am at a conference. The following week (and weekend), I am also out of town (in D.C.- Hello JB!), so it looks like I may have to take a pass this year. I will however, continue t...

Re: SF Live! Online Edition 2022

Two years ago the requirement was the video had a "live" performance element to it. Some entries were closer to a live take and others less so, but it was the spirit that mattered. And the videos were debuted on a live stream, with voting happening in real time in that same live stream. J...

Re: SF Live! Online Edition 2022

If the live fights uses the title from the "next" fight, has a roughly one week schedule, and is voted on over time, what is the "LIVE" aspect? If it's not in any way live, let's not call it the LIVE fight. Let's say that the LIVE fight has been suspended this year.

Spud voiced his concern that only SF shows should be on there, without any of the sidefights.
I am not opposed to sidefights, specifically organized through the Song Fight! Community, being on the channel. That extends to Nur Ein.

Spintunes is a bridge too far.

Re: sonofgearfight #1: "These are the Jokes"

For those of you who don't know/remember (damn we are old), "These are the Jokes" is something Blue used to say a lot back in the days of the IRC channel. I vividly remember a bunch of times groups of us would just be in there shooting the shit and if someone took something too seriously,...

To me, this pushes the importance of a real-life face-to-face Songfight! LIVE to a new level. It could be any of us. I want to meet you, Paco, before one of us bites it!

Re: Goodbye Blue Lang

Grossly unfair. Blue was the best. Back in the day, when we were both traveling up and down the (West) coast a lot, we had a ritual. Whoever was visiting would have to bring a bottle of Scotch as a gift. And it had to be more expensive than the last Scotch gifted. I would be in the store looking for...

Re: The Endless Song Fight (Jukebox) Playlist

I have picked Frankie Big Face's "Crinkle Binkle". Our take was penned by Mad Dog, who was shall we say, less than subtle in his approach to political lyricism. It's basically just "BUSH STINKS" at full volume with a quiet song around it to get to turn your volume up before the p...

Not much action in this thread in the pasts 11 months, so I thought I would drop this here to close out the year. An oldie but a goodie. Sorry, Niv. I thought I would re-activate this page for the Holidays. Really good work by all, and special thanks for fluffy for hanging onto these for all these y...

Re: Song Fight! Live(Stream) - September 2020

My humble suggestion: I think SF!L works and happens every year because we just need to convince one person a year to take it on. Whatever the format of a regular broadcast, it should be easy for any given volunteer to claim and execute an instance. Nevertheless, as did the early hosts of SF!L, som...

Re: Song Fight! Live(Stream) - September 2020

Or you could have a "Spud's Happy Hour" where Spud plays host to videos people send him. I think you get the idea. It needs show runners and themes. I have been wanting to get back in the game and looking for a way. I had fun doing the live show and making the voting widget. I have recent...
