Jim of Seattle, you're probably disappointed. Why? Because those meddling kids (uncapitalized) came along and shat all over this beautiful riverboat folksong, Shenandoah. You're probably thinking, Damn, why couldn't someone like jb or a Durand or, heck, even Those Meddling Kids, have been you're gif...

Workin' on it!

You might say I've bitten off more than I can chew, but actually I've just taken a bite that requires a few months of chewing.

After all, Songfight (e.g.) is an alternative to radio-friendly shit. You can always make a living someotherhow.

Saw it at a drive-in, thought it was great. The dumb kind of funny, but I mean, I actually thought it would be aggravating like "Wedding Crashers" or "White Girls" or "Dude Where's My Car". Instead, I laughed a lot and was generally pleased. I'll probably never see it a...

Her marriage to an abusive cat makes sense, too. Anyone seen that video? I figure what the song's called.

I've just started getting into Bjork.

I think it's safe to say that formal training, or lack of it, will influence your style/sound/skills/creativity. If you had done it the other way, you'd have developed differently and, a zillion out of zillion+1 times, you'd've turned out differently as a musician. As far which method is better for ...

Hear ye: It's been eating all the shep and now unless we take a step it's gonna eat us too. Me! You! That thing will always be hungry, always be wanting more. I heard the child screaming, thought that I was dreaming. It looked kind of like a carcajou, the kind that kill the caribou in Canada, but it...

A flamewar section would a) encourage really dumb flamewars, made exclusively for the purpose of flaming (kinda like the silly polls thread does for silly polls...), and b) not really discourage actual flamewars, which happen for real reasons.

Think along for a second: You're kinda famous, in certain internetty circles anyway. You enjoy making music. You enjoy and appreciate Song Fight! and want to contribute to it when you have the time and inspiration. You know you have a large fanbase, many of whom will flock to SF as soon as you menti...

Like Luke said, this is how it always is. Maybe you're just more in tune to the whininess, jb?

Maybe it's only because I've been mostly dicking around in the sidefights threads, but I've seen more community bonding lately than I've ever noticed.

Frontalot's the best nerdcore rapper there is, which puts him somewhere between Weird Al and Wesley Willis as a musician. Take that as you will.

"As wheelchair ramps are to stairs"? Do you mean "generally more fun, especially when you're travelling fast"? That may apply, actually.

Jeff, I think you need to give us more direction than that. I mean, I'm pretty sure almost everyone on SF has an open invitation for people to cover their songs. In fact, that's kinda what hxaro is. It just usually takes a bit of a push to get us going, in any direction. We're a group of people who ...

And here's one for Mr. Case: I Hate You

Needless to say to anyone who's heard the original, this one is mostly just a bunch of screwing around. Fun to make though, and possibly even fun to listen to.
