Re: My Life

We don't have [s]strikeout/striketrough[/s] either.

P.S. Luckily I found the mouse... and pray he had no relatives left in the car.

Re: Tuning Vocals in Post

If you're potentially going to spend $100 just on autotune, maybe you should consider buying a commercial DAW that has that functionality built in? If you have a Mac, Logic Pro X is only $199. If you have a PC, there are many options. I personally use Cubase, and you can get versions of that for $9...

Re: My Life

Ahhh... you just made me think about my horrifying gross mouse experience... :( I'll save you the details... but it involves a large mouse... (hopefully the only one...) and my car... my trunk is still striped bare to the metal wheel well a year later because of it... Argh!

Re: Tuning Vocals in Post

Yeah, out of all of those options. Melodyne is the best in my opinion. Sure you can go cheap with Waves Tune for $29, but for $20 more... you'll have software that is much better (again... in my opinion) with the ability to "make it even better" through upgrades in the future if you decide to go fro...

Re: I definitely know it (Secret Handshake prefight)

If I send in something late, it's not because I took "extra" time to work on it... It's usually either because I saw the title a couple days before the deadline or even possibly after the deadline had already passed, and I had an idea that I felt was worth working on even with the risk of the fight ...

Re: Deals On Gear and Software

Nembrini Audio has all their plugins at 70% off. Neural DSP has all of their Guitar/Bass Amp software at 30-50% off depending on how much you buy... i.e. buy more save more. Toontrack has some Black Week sales as well...

I only hear Laurel... or Yaley when sliding towards "Yanny". So weird. Also that Brainstorm/Green Needle thing is weird too... You can get it to say Brain Needle or Green Storm. I feel weird now...

Re: My Life

They've been doing construction upstairs in my office building the past 3 weeks... How long does it take to renovate from one office space to another office space? Wish I saw a before and after because that took way longer than I'd have expected... and now the new people upstairs are walking around ...

Re: My Life

Long car rides are so dull. Are you driving? Are you controlling the music? I love driving. I also love controlling the music. This is why I've never minded driving 24 hrs straight to Florida or Arkansas. Or 13-16 hrs straight to Nashville or Michigan. My knee doesn't like it... and 24 hrs is a bit...

Never even heard of AMSR until this challenge... then while watching a Youtube video later that night about a video game no less... the Youtuber mentioned AMSR... and then the next day in my Youtube Algorithm feed... some weird AMSR video showed up... I didn't watch it... but WTF, eh?

After reading this thread the day before and hearing about the bird hitting the window... a bird flew into my window the other day as well... luckily it seems to have glanced off it at an angle... otherwise I fear that the worst would have happened. Write a song... Birds & Windows.

Loosing votes here and there because of loudness doesn't really matter since people are still friend flooding the votes anyhow... ;)

New Music Friday - 10/25/19

Really enjoyed Alcest's new album "Spiritual Instinct", it's everything that I had wanted out of the new Tool album from a couple months ago... that's the only way I could describe what I felt while listening to it... "Man, this is what I wanted to feel from waiting 13 years for a new Tool album..."...

Re: Rewrite the ABC Rewrite

Without having read the controversy article... or listened to the new ABC song... I can say that it would be great for my 4 year old not to get caught up on the LMNOP part of the song. I think he even calls that "letter": EnEmMenO?

Re: ‘Decent’ cheap gear guides?

So I take it you don't own an Audio Interface? A Behringer UMC202HD will get you a cheap 2 input XLR/1/4" instrument up to 24bit/192k with Phantom Power (but make sure your system's USB ports will provide enough juice that the Phantom Power will work... my Laptop won't for instance...), for some che...

Re: Pyle SM57 Copy

MXL R80 Ribbon Microphone is the microphone I ended up grabbing. It too was on sale. Though I think it's still the most expensive microphone I've bought... I have not tested it yet however, as I'm still waiting on a "dual microphone" mount so I can mount both the DRI100 and MXL R80 to try and mic u...

Re: Pyle SM57 Copy

Interesting... that's pretty cheap. I wonder how it compares to the SM57 clone that I own... the Digital Reference DRI100 Dynamic Instrument Mic which I bought for $14.99 (it's $29.99 right now... but occasionally is a Stupid Deal of the Day). I have only used it once for recording the acoustic guit...

Re: Ssssssssssssssssibilance

Also not totally sibilance related... but make sure you're using a pop filter that is maybe an inch away from the microphone (this is mostly for plosives) and also try positioning your mic slightly higher than where you are singing into... i.e. above your mouth, not directly in front of your mouth.....

Re: Ssssssssssssssssibilance

Try to record only sibilance... No singing, just Sssssss into the microphone... then check what frequencies they are appearing at... and use that information to de-ess your recordings? Edit: Different mics and different voices will pick up their own silibance in different frequencies, so if you have...
