Re: Pyle SM57 Copy

MXL R80 Ribbon Microphone is the microphone I ended up grabbing. It too was on sale. Though I think it's still the most expensive microphone I've bought... I have not tested it yet however, as I'm still waiting on a "dual microphone" mount so I can mount both the DRI100 and MXL R80 to try and mic u...

Re: Pyle SM57 Copy

Interesting... that's pretty cheap. I wonder how it compares to the SM57 clone that I own... the Digital Reference DRI100 Dynamic Instrument Mic which I bought for $14.99 (it's $29.99 right now... but occasionally is a Stupid Deal of the Day). I have only used it once for recording the acoustic guit...

Re: Ssssssssssssssssibilance

Also not totally sibilance related... but make sure you're using a pop filter that is maybe an inch away from the microphone (this is mostly for plosives) and also try positioning your mic slightly higher than where you are singing into... i.e. above your mouth, not directly in front of your mouth.....

Re: Ssssssssssssssssibilance

Try to record only sibilance... No singing, just Sssssss into the microphone... then check what frequencies they are appearing at... and use that information to de-ess your recordings? Edit: Different mics and different voices will pick up their own silibance in different frequencies, so if you have...

Re: New Music Friday - 10/3/19

Well I've got the album on pre-order, but the vinyl doesn't come out until next month... but the digital version released today... Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' "Ghosteen". Which I'll assume is going to be pretty emotional... Side A is the children and Side B is the parents. If you aren't aware of the ...

Re: New Music Friday - 9/27/19

Not sure if I'll get around to it... but looking at the release list, I'd be interested in checking out the following (in no particular order): Alessandro Cortini – VOLUME MASSIMO, High Command – Beyond the Wall of Desolation, NETHERBIRD – The Vast Uncharted, Opeth – In Cauda Venenum, SIFTING – The ...

Re: "Alexa, play the latest fight on Song Fight!"

I believe that any calls made from the Skill must be sent to an Https or else the build fails. I can't remember the specifics, I believe it was a custom skill that I was trying to make. Not sure if they had specific Music Skills at the time. Let me have a look and see what I can figure out. If you w...

Re: "Alexa, play the latest fight on Song Fight!"

I've tried to make a Skill to do this, the only problem I have run into and... now that I'm looking at my web browser... might not be an issue any longer? Is that Amazon required https:// links and Song Fight! was only http://. Have we been "upgraded" now? This may be possible now... as long as the ...

Re: New Music Friday - 9/13/19

Yeah, I listened to the Iggy Pop album (from 9/6/2019, sorry!) last night and while a couple songs were interesting... much of the album seemed to be "spoken word" type stuff over weird "future jazz" background music... and it seemed really socially charged... but I'm confused about which side of th...

New Music Friday - 9/13/19

Little late... but no one else made a post. I enjoyed listening to both Pixies “Beneath the Eyrie” & Chelsea Wolfe “Birth of Violence” on Friday night. I may give the Alice Cooper "Breadcrumbs" cover song EP a listen at some point... and I missed Iggy Pop's “Free” from last week which I plan on givi...

Re: Artist interrupts new single with an ad

I'd stop listening to songs on streaming services (I don't listen on streaming services, but if I did, I would). Which in turn would probably make streaming services lose money and therefore force streaming services to stop allowing artists to do things like this. So... it's probably one of those th...

I believe that one time fee is for "permanent" distribution... i.e. even if you stop paying your monthly membership or you... die. Your music will live on.
