Re: Track sequencing

Tons of albums aren't sequenced by the artist, it's the mastering engineer. I can't speak to many modern releases, but the artistry of sequencing many an album made them work well beyond being a collection of single songs. Synergy.

This is the single biggest regret of missing Santa Cruz that I didn't know I'd regret until today. This is insanely awesome!

I have an electric kazoo, a palm pick-up, a cute mouth harp I bought from a Red Dzao girl in Vietnam. Maybe I need to record a song with just these items.

I'll also cross august off. July generally works best for me. And yes, Houston in the summer...hot as fuck is an understatement. But hell, you have a bunch of it in hand so I'd go. And, it's awful nice for your wife to sleep on the couch ;)

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - worth a visit?

It seems pretty cheesy, but it's rock & roll, after all. And Cleveland (kidding!). Who has been there and would you recommend a visit?

I am back in performance mode, rehearsing with a Pakistani singer who's amazing.
I've recently acquired these, which I'm quite happy with...

DITTO-X4 looper
HotOne SoulPress (mini Volume, Wah, Expression)

Combined with an old Zoom 505, it's working out well, and all fits in a small tech bag.

Apparently 2016 wasn't just a bad dream. Not fdrink ruight now but sure am hungover from that sorry ass year.

On the other hand, JB is cheery. Sober is cranking! Australia is more relevant than when there was only CRay. And Sam is in town! So far, today is going well :)

We're organizing to house Syrian refugees in the building next...

From either the George Martin autobiography or some interview i read years ago, Martin had said the stereo mix was something they missed before it was pressed and always regretted it. Headphones make all the early mixes tough in that regard. For what its worth, here's the entry in the Recording Sess...

My music night has moved to Wednesdays to hang with these folk, a truly talented and diverse crowd. While there's a lot of Classical Indian & jazz fusion, occasionally they wander into pop.

Their Prince tribute from the Spring is fine:

Infamy - 12.19.2016

Trying not to dwell on the dark days ahead, I hark back to lighter times. Friends, music, beer, Nellie's Drag Brunch. 2014 was one of the most enjoyable Song Fight Lives for me. Topped only by all the others before and after. OK, maybe 2015's Cara Vanray appearance was the best moment eva, but this ...

It's a pretty typical open plan space with offices along the windows. Except there are sculptures, models and posters all over the place. No cutouts. I've never been a comic book guy, so I know a small fraction of the characters. Good people though.

Re: 28/9/16 Where are you?

I love the extremes of urban and remote environs. I dislike suburbia. Although a fourth generation NYer, summers during most of the first 16 years of my life were spent exploring the nooks and crannies of North America with my dad. We avoided cities, visited every state but Hawaii by car, and tented...
