Re: Niv and the Exploration

Trivia: 15-16 Puzzle and I swapped songs for “Firebomb”. So my entry was written by him and vice verse. And I remember Frankie coming over to my house in Lancaster, PA to record his “Crinkle Binkle“. We used a Martin Traveler guitar to try to mimic a banjo. I played the snare and did the mix, which ...

Re: Cooking

Yah I did all that except mashing the berries. Just sliced them and dosed them with sugar then let that sit for an hour or so. My wife made the whipped cream with “help” from our 3-year-old. The cakes are from scratchish with the sole cheat of using Bisquick. Basically biscuits with a bit more sugar...

Tacos! Ground chicken and whatnot. SORRY FOR THE SOUR CREAM, I now understand how controversial... uh... sour cream... is. I didn’t even realize it’s Tuesday. Spice mix courtesy AllRecipes tho I admit to screwing up a ratio and then just tossing in whatever. ED021E68-03EA-4398-8117-942A0061E790.jpeg

Re: Open vs closed back headphones survey

Closed for tracking if I’m not lazy, open for mixing if I’m not lazy. I usually mix down on open but listen in everything I have and adjust. Usually that’s the closed and the laptop speakers, maybe earbuds if I have time to walk around.

Re: Cooking

I like Annie’s suggestion of using Greek yogurt instead of milk. It’s thicker and tangy and different, and sometimes that’s what I’m looking for. I usually stock up on Annie's when it's on sale, because it tastes somewhat better than Kraft but also serves the purpose of being shitty yet comforting f...

It’s not good, but it’s comforting. That’s basically how Kraft stays in business after all.

Re: Cooking

Can’t wait to watch that when the household is awake! I love Kraft mac and cheese, though it is pretty easy to make a cheese sauce— aka “sauce mornay”. It’s a bechamel with cheese in it. Make a roux— 2tbsp butter and 2tbsp flour, into a not-too-big pot and cooked until it’s a little brownish. They s...

Those look great fluffy! A couple days ago I made fried rice. Which is what the stir fry was supposed to be but I didn’t have enough left over rice. Irregardless (heh), both ways were delicious. Re: Mixing

#4 should say "what you're really hearing on the vocals in professional recordings is mostly delay, not reverb". #5 should come with a caveat, because if you slice the vocal and crank a soft spot to match a loud spot, EVERY bit of audio in that soft spot gets cranked-- and it can easily make your vo...

Re: Niv and the Exploration

Nobody's as much of a maniac as you are, Niveous. Even if they do listen to the whole archive.

You should do a three-rank rating for every song: garbage, meh, good

Almost somesongsy-style rating.
