Yeah he was much more charming in the Song Exploder interview than I've ever found him to be before.

Re: Sample rate and bit depth survey

Weird thing is that bot registered prior to when I changed the signup form to require pronouns. Which was months ago. Prior to that I just looked for a reasonable username and email, and “Heatherarita” and “heathertan@gmail” seemed human. So, my bad I think, but weird that it waited so long to get a...

Re: Gear Acquisition Syndrome

I bought a joyo jf15 cause it was on sale on prime day and the description said it was a decent DI amp sim with a good beefy low end. Also cheap. Will report back. For live shows I have a jf14 (the "American") on my pedalboard and never turn it off. Interestingly, whereas the jf14 is a clone/ripoff...

Re: Song Exploder on Netflix

We watched the Wait For It and Losing My Religion episodes. It’s definitely more about the time and context of the song, and its effect on the world, and less about the song itself and how it was created. Even less so than the podcast. Still interesting f though.

I find the hardest part of roasting a butternut squash is cutting the damn thing in half. (Not talking spaghetti squash.)

I could never easily barre less than the whole neck. I can barely avoid barre-ing the E string. I have no idea how one would barre just the top two strings AND form a chord with the rest of your fingers. My hand hurts just thinking about it.

Re: Pedals!

Nah, my pedals are basically always on, except for delay that I use to make solos sound less inept.

Well, the pedal that’s not always on is the vocal fx.

Jeff "Flapjack" Robertson This stirs something in my lizard brain, but all I can come up with is a sling blade voice saying "They call me flapjack". It's definitely connected to my sister Casey, who is off her god damn rocker quite frequently, shouting "MORE FLAPJACK" constantly during the show aft...

Re: Was Song Fight Live your first gig?

It wasn’t my first performance, since I grew up doing classical music. But SF Live Hot Lunch #1 was the first time I ever performed a song on guitar in front of people, I’m pretty sure.

I didn’t find songwriting until I was around 23 or so.
