Re: You Spin Me Right 'Round Baby Right 'Round (Spin The Bottle)
MC and LK- Jammin' mon. My stoner friend would love this. Is that offensive? I have no idea if this is authentic Jamaican music, but if it is I like it. If not, this song is interesting. Sorry, just a couple of old white guys from California. We just wanted to have some fun with the song and the ly...

Re: You Spin Me Right 'Round Baby Right 'Round (Spin The Bottle)
Ok, here's my first stab at critiquing. I have decided that rather than give (supposedly) helpful criticism for each song, that I would just give a list of my favorites and pick the winner from them. My take on SF is that the song has to communicate something to me. As I played each song I judged if...

Re: Who's it going to be this week? (Spin the Bottle prefight)
it looks like i'll be in with another sarcastic g+g number. i'm sure the mean and median age for songfighters is at least over 20. why are we getting all these teenage themed titles? when is the last time any of you played spin the bottle? or even thought about the concept of juvie before the last ...

Re: And all I got was this lousy jumpsuit (Back From Juvie)
LK & MC +++ very infectious chorus +++ /// otherwise, reminds of that tune from Theory of Dead Man /// I kinda have to laugh at all the references to other songs as if they were either inspirations or paying homage to a certain band or song. I (or MC) have never heard this song or band before. ...

Re: Thinkin' about Some Reviews
larry knox - you're quite lucky that i downloaded the correct version of this song, the mix is definitely better.... the vocal take is MUCH better. I was gonna make the kareoke comment again, but the most recent mix sounds pretty good. it's not a bad song, and it creates a feeling and sticks to it....

Re: Thinkin' about Some Reviews
Larry Knox - Phrasing not special. Emphasis (strong beats and high notes) on a ton of simple connecting words all through the verses. Chorus is better this way, emphasis is on verbs and unique words "thinkin, remembrin", "reckless". In verses the emphasis falls on "that&quo...

Re: Thinkin' about Some Reviews
Larry Knox - The sustains on your vocals are very wobbly. And maybe it's just me but they seem panned right, which is not very endearing. The chorus could use harmonies. Overall a solid composition. Thanks Manhattan for this review. You know you have a great ear. I agree with everything. - I sing t...

Re: Thinkin' about Some Reviews
I really should read the posts before posting huh? Anyway, now I know what went wrong. Finger Fart. I sent the wrong file.... doh! I am very sorry to insinuate that it was anyone else's fault. I just couldn't figure out what happened on my end and now....... I know. I would never purposely send a fi...

Re: Thinkin' about Some Reviews
Wow, I don't know what happened between when I finished the final mixdown and the process of getting to an MP3 but my song was butchered. I finished it late Friday night to get it in on time so, as I recall, I converted the file, made sure the first few notes played and submitted it. I have resubmit...

Re: Thinkin' about Some Reviews
Hey Gang, Has anybody else notice a degradation of sound quality between what you sent and what is posted? I listened off the web site and was shocked at how bad it sounded. So I downloaded the song from the web site and loaded into iTunes next to the one I sent. What a huge difference. I checked bo...

Thinkin' 'Bout the Good Ol' Days Larry Knox 2009 Of all the girls I've ever met I can't get her off of my mind but that seems like a million years ago another place, another life, another time She saw me as if from another world and she was a heavenly ghost The world seemed brighter in those simple ...

Green Eleven By Larry Knox 2/24/09 Ver. 2.0 Verse 1: Ignoring the warnings, our head in the sand why we never saw it coming Or security does not lie in the military hands but on our ability to breath when we're drowning We're into the red, beyond the bounds of nature Filling our needs and ignoring t...

Re: Pre-Game Chatter
Wow, I thought I might be beat up for my lyrics but not my spelling!
Ok, not only will I be challenged by great song titles as "Green Eleven" (yecch! (check spelling)) but I will endeavor to get an 'A' on my next post.
Thanks for the advice.
Larry

Re: Pre-Game Chatter
Hey Gang, This will be my first submission. I commited to writting a song no matter what the title. Crap, what a way to start! Well, never one to back down from a challenge, I checked the title for the week last Sat. while in bed and within an hour I had the basic lyrics done. With this title I felt...
