Re: We Visited Some Reviews (We Visited A Forest Full Of Graves)

The Overambitious - Good vocals right from the start. I really liked the verses. The more pop-like chorus works, but wasn't the highlight for me. The arrangement and production are both really good. I'm not really sure what that ending was about. My only real complaint is that you're setting the bar...

Monk

So... I got the five dollar a month expanded package for the wife that includes Hallmark Mysteries and Murders. For shows I have no interest in, it's really not bad. But the past couple of weeks they've been showing Monk reruns non-stop on Sunday and the wife has been watching. And now I've been wat...

Re: A rooftop chase and then (Oh No, Vertigo! reviews)

Berkeley Social Scene : Maybe just a little busy for my taste in places. But I liked the feel in the break. And that synth solo is tasty. Nice use of the pitch wheel. And your melodies are good, if a little repetitive. Deadnettlez : What the hell did I just get myself into? I don't know if I'm smil...

Yeah, I saw this on FB and on 50/90 and now here. I clicked through and had one that was awesome and a couple that were shite. But you know what, I gotta go back and see if I can use it somehow for something or other.

Re: Wonder Woman

The wife and I saw this last night. She liked it. I liked it, too. My major complaint is that the queen (what's her name?) on the island has a pretty shitty reason for not divulging information to Diana which led to putting her into more danger via ignorance. It was necessary for the plot, but compl...

Re: 1/5/17 RIP Hoops

Thank you for sharing that, J$. I'm watching now.

I collab'd with Hoops fairly regularly and was even in a "band" with him and Nancy. It's odd how I always took for granted there would be another collab along at some point and now that there won't be...

Clear State: - I like the laid back groove/atmosphere. Nothing here sounds bad at all. But not a lot stands out, either. That being said, I liked the vocal and the mix and enjoyed listening. Pigfarmer Jr: I'd like to apologize in advance. This was fun to put together, but it will probably test your ...

Re: American Gods

I don't watch T.V. as a rule. Cardinals baseball and Mizzou sports and I watch a few shows with my wife sometimes, but I don't miss them when I miss them. So it is unusual for me to be interested in a series. My wife asked me about it and I had two things to say (just a few episodes into the series....

I know I'm super late to the thread, but he is the fellow that I referred to as inspiration for my Old Friends entry (as well as others) and at least five other songs since his passing. One of the good guys and I still feel his loss as an immediate wound. They say time heals....

Good to have you Tom/Vom.

I'm in. But I did a three minute destruction of guitar with bass, drums and a little synth. I appreciate all of the patience y'all will use when listening.

American Gods

Okay, so the first season is over. (I'm always timely in my posts, right?) Anyone watch? Anyone like it? I read the book many years ago and enjoyed it. They are taking great liberties with the original story, but I like what they've done. The stories are decent, the cinematography is very well done....

Re: New Jeff Tweedy Album only available for premium subscribers on Spotify

One of the "strategies" I've read about for indie releases is to find a blog or podcast or review site or musically related site and offer them exclusive access to your album for a period of time. The idea is that it will generate interest, or at least be exposed to a new audience. Althoug...

Re: Track sequencing

Sequencing always matters. It's just that it matters to less people now as less people listen to the entire album in order. Or to put it another way, let's say someone randomly hits play on song four and listens to three songs. The order of four, five and six matters. But it's not likely that a many...
