Re: NaNoWriMo

I tried it the last two ... no, three years, but never finished anything close to 50k. I did get a nice novella out of the first year but failed miserably the next two.
This year I just didn't even get started. I find FAWM to be more doable.

Re: Who would you want to see come back?

Brother Machine was great. He entered fights multiple times, but all the entries were good. Seth was another of his names.

I miss c.layne.

Ah, thanks. It's interesting to know how your thinking here worked. I think I am far too literal to figure that one out on my own.

Re: It Ain't Plato's (The People's Republic Reviews)

The People’s Republic Bss - lyrically, it doesn’t have much subtlety. Can’t disagree with the sentiments, though. Not the most accomplished vocal… and the banjo (?) seems mixed oddly and is distracting. Hinc - this is me. It’s nice to be back in a fight, it seems like i have less and less time these...

I'm actually working on a song for once. Not done yet though. And it definitely won't be live recording. Oh well.

Re: Circle of Titles VII

Well, it wasn't the song I had meant to record, but what I learned is that I'm not that good at writing lyrics with meter and rhyme and stuff, so I mostly talked through this one. I had big plans for this one that didn't come to fruition. Not sure how many songs there are out there about cryptograph...

Re: the Tick - on Amazon

We watched the pilot a while back when they asked for votes to decide which shows would continue. I liked it pretty well, although not as well as the cartoon version. Better than the previous live action one. I didn't realize the second episode was available yet, so I'll check it out.

I'm still working on mine. I tried to work on it while on vacation but all I could do were the drums, the rest was really awkward. Stay tuned...

Re: Hidden Figures

We saw this in the theater and really enjoyed it.
After the show we looked up a lot of the actual historical stuff and it was more or less true, although not everything happened at the same times as in the film.

I'd be happy to add some synths if you're interested. What song needs that?

Re: Circle of Titles VI

Yeah, we do need that info on who requested the songs and such. Maybe as songs show up, the requester can speak up?
Also, there were 13 entrants but I only see 3 songs in this thread. Where are the others?

Re: Nur Ein XII - Round Seven

I stated at some point that we'd have to remind competitors to rank all the songs and nobody disagreed with me, so I suspect it's that. However I'd say to make your best song (Bring your A-game) either way!

Re: No sunlight in sight (Black Days reviews)

Did you try reading the comment I posted on this subject in this very thread? I devoted 319 words to the topic. I read it. I have not heard these songs you refer to, so basically I read this as "this is a song inspired by some other song that has black days in the title" and then a bunch ...

Re: No sunlight in sight (Black Days reviews)

Balance lost - really interesting synths in the intro. This reminds me of pet shop boys a lot, or maybe the parody of them that flight of the conchords did… anyway, well done. I feel like there’s some space in the middle of the spectrum where another sound could come in and fill it out a little more...
