Re: Linux Multimedia Distros
Oh for christ's sake.
I should have expected someone would have come up with a response like that. I'm so over Windows.

Linux Multimedia Distros
Hi all, Does anyone here know much about Linux Distros, in particular, the Multimedia ones? I've tried Ubuntu Studio, and have had heaps of issues with it, most notable that it conflicts with the wireless network part of the kernel, which is bad for me. I've had multiple problems using Ubuntu Deskto...

Novacastrians (of which I am one) are notoriously parochial and fiercely loyal to the Knights Another Novocastrian! Welcome aboard. I was born and bred in Hamilton I'm From Thornton, went to high school in Maitland.... ...(who I personally can't stand) ... uncomfortable silence ....I'll pretend I d...

Re: A bit about Baseball
Firstly, thanks to all for contributing. This has helped immensely. There are a number of simularities between cricket (the game we are really good at beating the English at, considering they invented it) and baseball, but I still found the game I was watching a little abstract. Anyways... Actually ...

A bit about Baseball
Hi All, This is a message to our those who are more knowledgable on the subject than I am. I would like to know a few basic things about baseball. You see, here in Australia, unless you have pay TV (i.e. cable) you don't see a lot of baseball on free-to-air TV. In fact we saw nothing of it at all fo...

Podcasting Server
Hi All, It's been a while but it's great to see everyone so active in SF still. I had a question and it may be a bit dumb, and if so, I apologise in advance. We all know about YouTube and how that works, right? Is there a similar deal for DIY Podcasts? If anyone knows of one, or knows of some good p...

Did this idea ever float? It would be so cool for all the Aussies to get together and jam, except that I've now moved to Port Hedland, WA and that doesn't help matters... ah the tyranny of distance... I will go to a Songfight! Live in Port Hedland - that would be very cool. But a Songfight live on ...

Thank you so much to all who have ranked my tune in their top 10. I am humbled and flattered by the accolades. I have been out of the loop for so long that I have missed so much of the great music that is produced by you all. I haven't downloaded anything from SF.org since Jan 2006 so I have a lot o...

I just wish WMP would look for album data from somewhere else other than one of it's own sites, like gracenote or freedb or something. I also didn't like the way Media Centre sorts it's artists names - I have about 200 CDs in theh library, but about 560 artists, because of the compilation CDs there!...

Hey Mostess, Good to hear from you. Good to see you're still around. I just found the interface a little bit cluncky and I ddin't like the way it sorts artists, especially if you have a few compilation albums in there. Also too, I don't like the way WMP sources metadata for your CDs. While I was a u...

Windows Media Centre replacement
Hi all, Sorry I haven't been around in a while - long story... Anyway, recently got a new computer and it contains windows media centre on it. When I first saw it it looked cool, but now, having used it, I think it sucks. Is there anything else I can replace it with that does all the same stuff, but...

Re: Vocal removing
I was reading on the web about a band I have a few albums of - Pavlov's Dog. The thing with them is that their music is awesome, but their lead singer is extremely off-putting - he sounds dreadful. This review I read of their first album gave me a great idea - burn a remix of the vinyl to CD and re...

Vocal removing
Hi all, Yeah I know it's been a long time since I've shown my name around here, but... ...I need to know of a good, cheap directx or VST (just downloaded a wrapper!) vocal remover plugin. Or, could someone tell me exactly how to remove vocals by doing the reverse wave form thing that I saw mentioned...

Further to "The Compleat Songfight"
Hi All, Yeah I know it's been a while and I haven't submitted anything to the board. That doesn't mean I don't love you all!!! Anyway, I've gotten a bit lost in all the downloading that is required on songfight these days. In fact I haven't downloaded a thing since october last year. It's gonna take...
