Re: A re-introduction is needed

That's crazy impressive, dude. Props for finding the, like, one place on the internet where you could gather all that info.

A re-introduction is needed

Hello again, SongFight! My name is Michael, and I've only ever submitted to two SongFights – "Favorite Lego Bricks" and "Make the First Move", both times as Bootlegged Waters with my brother and my friend on vocals, respectively. College is makin' me feel pretty damn useless, so ...

Re: A tiger and a scary face tattoo (Tyson's Corner pre-figh

I need something to do to get creative and feel productive, so I think I'll come out of my two-year SongFight hiatus for this one! No clue what I'm gonna do with it yet, but I'm excited :D

Nobody's Coming to Dinner - the ep Debut

Hey guys, I know I've been quiet on here since, hell, March, but with good reason: between school and whatnot, I've been working on my new music project, a duo with my brother called Nobody's Coming to Dinner. We recorded the entire thing in our dining room with GarageBand and a Zoom H1 at our dispo...

Re: Well if you insist (Make the First Move reviews)

Not sure what the SongFight! etiquette on things like this is (or even if there is any), but with some advice from my guitar teacher I tried to do a quick fix on that clipping issue. I think it turned out pretty well. There's also a demo if anyone's interested. http://bootleggedwaters.bandcamp.com/a...

Re: Well if you insist (Make the First Move reviews)

bootlegged waters: vocals are clipping a little? Yes definitely. Lack of time and equipment, we had to record the vocals separately and then I put them back into the GarageBand file manually and didn't realize until it was too late that the vox had been recorded WAY too quietly. I had to max the vo...

Bootlegged Waters - "Make the First Move" Lyrics by Michael Joseph "Well go ahead," he said, My hand around his waist, "We've been at this for days!" I try to lean in closer, realize I am just an inch away from Everything that I have ever dreamed But I can't! Something ...

Re: First, check for a new title... (prefight)

Submitted last night! Some amateurish recording mistakes (mic was too quiet to I had to max the levels and add MAD gain, resulting in some buzzing) but I like it. LEGGO

Absolutely loving what I put together. Have a rough cut of pretty much everything, just need my vocalist onboard. Can't wait to share this with everyone.

Make The First Move scrapped draft

Here's a little somethin-somethin I whipped up, never finished, and scrapped for this week's contest. If they speak to you or whatever and you pick 'em up and finish 'em, just gimmie some co-writer credit ("Lyrics by [you] and Michael Joseph"): "Make the First Move" (Take One) Ly...

Remember me? :D

Hey all! You might remember my very poorly -produced and -recorded entry from - holy fuck, it was actually that long ago - 2011, "Favorite Lego Bricks (Look at the Beach)", submitted as Bootlegged Waters ft. Dante Joseph. I recorded with a crappy-ass USB microphone and an impatient singer....

I second the New England idea. Any of y'all ever been to Providence? Awesome local music scene, plenty of small clubs/art houses/etc this thing could be set up in.

Got some sexy chords for this one. Let's see if the whole getting-together-with-the-singer-and-actually-doing-junk thing actually pans out this time around! :D

Re: the next prefight thread you might want to post in

Haven't been on here in months, have I? Well I'm back, and planning to partake in this fight (with a new singer to boot!). I love ridiculously long song titles... reminds me of Team Me's "With My Hands Covering Both Of My Eyes I Am Too Scared To Have A Look At You Now". The prompt is prett...

Wow haven't been on here in awhile. I'm feelin' this one, but I doubt I'll be able to get a submission in in time. Oh well. I definitely feel like I should get back on the SongFight... train, though. One lame submission isn't enough for me!

Re: Always Do Your Vest (prefight)

Got a really good one for this, but my computer is being a jerk and won't detect any sound coming from my guitar, so that may be a problem... I don't want to record my electric guitar acoustically like I did last time for this week's fight.

Oh, don't you worry about your effect on Dante. He does need to learn, and it's not like you've driven him to tears or anything like that.
